Just got mine at Christmas and I installed the 20# recoil spring prior to firing it. Frankly, mine is quite pleasant to shoot compared to my J frame Taurus with stiff handloads. Fired 4 mags with no discomfort or bleeding. It does toss the brass over 20'! I'm shooting Privi hollowpoints.

I have thought of grinding the extension off myself. It would print less. But can't do it! Thanks to Classic's customer service, I had nothing to lose. After carrying it a few days now I really like the modified mag. Don't know if it was the stiffer recoil spring or the fact I was used to stiff 38 ...

Santa brought me a Classic P64 with an extra mag for Christmas. Installed Wolff Springs and bought a Remora PPK holster and was all set to begin using it for CCW. Wish I had read this thread before attempting to install the 20# spring in my p64. I had already installed the 18# hammer spring and could not get the slide to go back on with the new recoil spring.
