Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Ketchman, YEP. And it's the day that you let your guard down that something UNTOWARD happens to you. = In my case, I went out one day (about 15 years ago) to simply deliver some civil papers to a private home & "walked into" a dope deal gone bad. - Nearly got killed for NOTHING except ...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Ketchman, While I wouldn't argue that the P64 was/is a "badge of office", according to period Polish Army documents, it was primarily designed as a SELF-DEFENSE WEAPON & for CLOSE RANGE use. (I was once, long ago, a CS Military Police officer & while I was NOT in direct close comba...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
manicmechanic, I feel sure that you're correct. - PERHAPS dry firing before disassembly might have been SMART. (My hands are simply NOT strong enough to compress the spring.) Inasmuch as it was NOT even easy to remove/replace the slide or remove the grips, I'm NOT at all sure that this particular ha...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Ketchman, YEP. You certainly may call me "Tex", as most of my friends do. WHAT really dates me is thinking that 50.oo was a LOT of $$$$$$ & that receiving that much from the county made me FEEL "rich". (Believe it or not, at the university that I attended the total tuition &a...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Ketchman, WILCO. Btw, for those readers who wanted photos, I have neither a camera NOR the knowledge of how to post a photo if I had one. (Somehow, I don't think that my old Brownie Kodak is what I need.) Speaking of the Model 10 S&W, I'd really like to find another "pencil barrel" Mod...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Ketchman, OK, so I'm "spoiled to" shooting my S&W Model 12 (which lives on my belt, anytime that I'm wearing trousers) & my treasured Sig-Sauer P6. = BOTH have been "worked on" by a talented police armorer, have LIGHT DA/SA "pulls" & that "break like gl...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
New Friends, HOWDY from THE ALAMO CITY of Texas. Discovered this forum & joined in NOV15, but have been inactive, as I've been dealing with numerous family members who are quite ill. Bought my first P64 about 2 weeks ago from http://www.classicfirearms.com, after a long chat with a VERY NICE LAD...

Re: Bringing-out the Luster
To All, I wish I remembered the name of the metal polish sold by Honda motorcycle dealers (for polishing chrome parts) but I've forgotten it. = It works wonders on "bringing out the shine" & removing deep rust particles that are down IN the finish. - The last tube that I bought as abou...

SkippySanchez,
Actually the holsters fit the P64 pretty well. = I'll wear mine on my wide belt when hunting/fishing/"out in the bad weather" to protect the little pistol.
yours, satx

Re: OLD, TIRED, POLISH MILITARY HOLSTER????
Skippy Sanchez,
Well certainly the Polish National Police did for 20+ years & at least some senior Polish military officers likely did, too.
yours, sw

Re: OLD, TIRED, POLISH MILITARY HOLSTER????
chestertnted,
YEP, I suspect FEW would want one.
Btw, I found a "bench-made" & VERY NICELY crafted "otb saddle-leather holster" in LH for the P64 "on-line" for 15 bucks. = Color me: PLEASED.

Re: OLD, TIRED, POLISH MILITARY HOLSTER????
chestertnted, While I will happily help any SOUTHPAW that actually wants a replica, should I find a holster to "rip apart" & copy, I doubt if many people will want a replica of a Polish military/police "full coverage" holster. Can I see "a show of hands" of willingl...

Re: OLD, TIRED, POLISH MILITARY HOLSTER????
chestertnted, EXACTLY the same sort of p64 service holsters that I've yet found. = I know for a fact that some of them "came in" with what could charitably be described as, "well-used" leather. I wonder if all the old tired-looking ones "got pitched in the trash"?? Once...

OLD, TIRED, POLISH MILITARY HOLSTER????
New Friends, Not only am I new to the P64 but also new to this site, too. As a "southpaw" & retired USA MP, I want a POLISH SERVICE HOLSTER but cannot find one anywhere (Did the Poles even make a LH holster, as the Germans/Czechs did??) for us left-handed but "right-minded folks&q...
