Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??

My 1967 has a new 18# hammer spring and 22# recoil. Firing Wolf, Brown Bear and Hornady CD. No glitches or light strikes yet.

(Can't say the same for my FEG PA63; put in the lightest Wolff hammer spring and nothing but light strikes. Wow.)

Re: CHANGING SPRINGS IN PA-63 AND MOST FEG SMALL FRAME

Nice instructions.

On replacing the hammer spring, I didn't remove the sear pins and it seems to have changed out fine.

I have a 9# hammer spring in now, and it seems far too light, although I don't have any range time yet. I can imagine it giving very light primer strikes.

P64 hammer pin obstructing travel of hammer

Bought a P-64 not long ago, and it functioned fine. Until one day... I was getting a lot of light primer strikes, and only about 10% of the primers were firing. Then I noticed the hammer was seizing up before fully contacting the firing pin. Thought it might be the aftermarket springs, changed out t...

Grip sleeve for P-64

Just toying around with accessories, and thought I would try one of these to help deal with recoil. Any recommendations? I have the Hogue Jr. sleeve, but don't really care for the finger groove or the incredibly tight fit (concerned that rust will find a home under there, unless I strip it off regul...

Re: Addendum on CLASSIC FIREARMS

While that was fair I think it's beyond a mistake how many rust jobs they have sent out ... The sad thing is, if they sold these for $200 with a realistic grade they would have sold just the same probably. Now they've hiked the price up another fifty bucks.. Wow! I hadn't seen the new price. And I ...

Re: Just got this from Classic Firearms

I recommend Gunbroker.com auction site instead of retail online sites for mil-surp type guns. Photos of the actual gun which you will bid/buy are often on gunbroker, and you can of course send email to the seller. If either of those are not available, then just avoid that auction listing. My P-64, ...

Re: Classic Has $199 P64s

Noob here. Just bought one of the $199 and it was in pretty good shape except the safety looks parkerized instead of blued. For a 40+ year old surplus gun, I'm not fussed. Aimsurplus now has 'category 1' and '2' P-64s. I have always liked doing business with them, so may think about picking up anoth...
