Just stumbled across this from a back issue of AK47 & Soviet Steel magazine. Apologies if this is a repeat of an earlier post.

Re: Trading my P-64
Shooting the p64 is no day at the beach - - the gazillion posts on this forum alone on what can be done to tame it testify to that. This is a great forum with lots of great information, but like others like it, the collection of aficionados here covers a wide spectrum of brand loyalty. Practically s...

Re: Trading my P-64
I humbly disagree with the previous comments. I like my p64 very much, but I'm no fanboy. I also like my Mossberg 590 and would go to it for home defense long before considering my p64. Cost-wise, they're in the same ballpark. Caliber-wise, nor even close. A Mossberg 500 or 590 is a viable option an...

What is #6, what's it do?
After cleaning and lubing, I noticed a screw loose on the right side of the frame partially covered by the grip. I tightened it up nice and snug but have no idea what it does. I think it's #6 but my Polish is not so good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160112/09fd0661ad35535925d8e06919a5f07d.jpg...

Re: CDS Tactical Grip Tape
Took my p64 to the range yesterday and shot about 50 rounds. The CDS grip tape held up perfectly, which I expected, and absorbed none of the recoil, which I also expected. It still made for a nice grip surface, however, and showed no signs of peeling or separation after cleaning.

Re: weapons used in self defense
I tell you what, if someone brandishes a gun toward cops they're going to shoot him immediately. Why should it be any different for a regular citizen? Keep in mind police are civilians, too.

Re: CDS Tactical Grip Tape
Interested as well. Need some recoil dampening! Frankly, I doubt it will dampen the recoil all that much because it's not real thick. It does provide a better, more sure grip and will probably absorb some of the snap of the 9x18mak. Haven't shot it yet, so for now I'm just guessing. A fingerless gl...

CDS Tactical Grip Tape
Just received some rubberized grip tape from CDS Tactical for my p64 today and had it on within half an hour. Heard about it on this forum from board user "valetnlv," who sent me to the eBay link. Good fit, easy to apply and looks better than the bicycle inner tube fix. As per instructions...

Re: How good are new mags?
johnnycurdents: Have your tried taking the mags apart and cleaning them? Mine had similar issues and a thorough cleaning solved the problem in both mags. After cleaning I sprayed silicone lube one all the parts and wiped everything dry before reassembly.

Re: Looking for grips
I've got a bicycle inner tube on it now, which isn't a ugly as it sounds and it handles just fine, but I sure like the looks of that grip tape.
Is it reusable if you take it off? Didn't see much info on the eBay site.

If you have am Academy Sports nearby, I've found Monarch as cheap there as anything I've found online without having to spring for a 1K case.
