Reloading Question
speaking about reloading...
has anyone considered working up a load that is optimized for our short P-64 barrels?
In looking through my various reloading guides I noticed that all test barrel lengths were in the 3.5" - 4" range and most of those loads were in the 900 fps area.

MFS ammo & other +P stuff in P-64
Has anyone emailed SAMMI to ask them to establish standard and +P load ratings for the 9x18mm Makarov?
Or would that be like beating a dead horse?

Truth,
Are they the non-thumbrest style and flat black in color?
I was seriously going to order a set from Zee the same day I read this thread.

Holser options
Butch50 is right. I made myself an open top strong side holster and a double mag pouch that ive been using to carry my p64 for about a year now. Easy to draw, tight up against my hip, and Comfy to wear all day. Tip: Make your holster so that your gun is a real snug fit, then soak the leather in warm...

Replacement Grips I make
I wish I had bought a set now, I should have jumped at the chance to get them. All the positive responses on this site about the Zee Grips really made me want a set.

What about mounting one of those universal laser sights (the ones that mount precariously to the trigger guard http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=187174), only instead of mounting it in the usual location it could be mounted to either the right side of the slide or to the top of the right gr...

The laser sights for a Walther P22 are nice and compact, one might fit pretty well on a P64.

perhaps a 3/8" dovetail mount would fit better, after being contoured to fit the dust cover.

just an idea, it might be a pain in the butt to fine 3/8" tactical accesories though.

9x18 shortage???
I just realized I typed my measurements wrong, .4xx instead of .3xx like they should have been ::). I corrected my previous post. Nbender, I know the case expands to seal the chamber upon fireing. But the case shouldn't bulge at the web. I measured the one case with a bulge at .398 on the widest par...
