Re: How do I wear the shoulder holster?
gman68w, I have one or those shoulder holsters. My holster rides against my left side, arm through the loop and the loose strap goes around the back of my neck and goes down my right front to my belt. Don't know if it is the right way but it's comfortable and seems to work, hope it works for you. Jim

Re: Tisas 1911- questions
Checked out the company, Tisas is a state-of-the-art manufacturer and NATO has a contract with them for Berettas. I got my 1911 from Bud's, new it was $350 so you got a fair deal. Mine feed empty shell cases much better than a previous Colt 1911 did with 180 gr. wadcutters. It's a good pistol, accur...

Re: Nuts! Launched My Firing Pin/Spring Into Outer Space!
I rounded off the detent, then dremeled the grooves on the safety lever pin. Now the safety is a little stiff but can be flipped with the thumb. You can overdo it so grind a little, reassemble, and try it out. It may take a few tries but you will be happy with the results. Good luck. Jim P.S. A magn...

Re: Stiff safety lever
My safety was very stiff. I rounded off the detent and dremeled a more gradual ramp on the safety. It is still slightly stiff, as it should be, but it's easier to flip with your thumb.

Re: Unsafe P64?
Isn't that how it is supposed to work? This is the first pistol I've had that has a decocker and I was surprised on how it dropped the hammer, just like I had pulled the trigger. But shoudn't the firing pin be blocked?

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
Kind of a late post but an update on my P-64 from AIM. I think I paid $239 for it, with 2 magazines. It seems to be un-issued, no wear marks on the finish or any internal parts. I had to shoot it a bit to get some wear marks so I would know where to polish. DA trigger was bad but Wolf springs fixed ...

You may not need the LCI but you will always know it is missing.

Re: P-64 Springs -The strongest recoil reduction available?
When I changed to a 22# recoil spring the kick didn't seem as sharp. It appears the stronger spring spreads the recoil out over a longer period of time. Same force but more of a push than a punch.

Re: Range report
I was thinking of a single strip of rubber, just on the backstrap. The wrap-around rubber might snag on clothing, it also would make the grip a little thicker. Maybe a strip of innersole gel-sole.

Re: Range report
Just an idea, which I haven't tried, but how about a piece of inner tube glued to the backstrap? You could probably test it with double sided tape.

Re: Southern Ohio P-64
The Wolf springs, 22# recoil and 18#hammer, transform this nifty little gun into a real CCW! DA trigger pull is dramatically improved, I'm 69 years old and have no problem using just the first pad of my finger. SA is lighter also but shouldn't be a problem because of the long take-up of this trigger...

Re: new to forum thinking of getting a p64 as carry weapon.
+1 for AIM. I got the one advertised in VG condition but didn't choose the hand select option. I think I got a new gun, sharp rifling, no holster wear, and no rub marks on the internals. After cleaning and shooting 50 rounds I did get rub marks on the slide. When I read about the dreaded recoil I go...
