Extra FP spring is for safety
The new firing spring is a PITA to replace, but they include it for safety reasons. It is slightly stiffer and prevents slam fires or firing when decocking. In general, it's a good idea to replace it anyway. There are youtube videos detailing replacement. Functionality is not the primary reason for ...

Re: who here has an AK?
I own a SA-93, which I got back in 1995. Less than a month later, it saved my life from a masked intruder in my apartment.
I also own a Zastava M76 CAI in 8mm.

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
It's probably best to carry with the hammer unobstructed. Do consider that this gun was carried by police and military for years without too many problems. Choose your holster carefully by being one made specifically for the gun, not a genetic one size sorta fits all item. http://rs1162.pbsrc.com/al...

Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??
I'm going to try the #18 + 20 lb recoil spring. I also got the firing pin spring in. I got the complete spring set from Wolf springs. Getting the safety knob back in is a real PITA. I was about to go full chimp out and start flinging gun parts and excrement on the walls everywhere. Even dry firing, ...

Re: .380 barrel for P64
This makes little sense. The 9x18 ammo is cheaper than 380 in many cases. Hornady makes a great critical defense load. Red army standard and Tula make great plinking ammo. Silver bear may or may not be available in hollow points. If you reload, even more possibilities arise. To add insult to injury,...

Re: WET OR DRY
I cleaned mine spotless once I got it out of the box. I run just a very light touch of CLP soaked into a bore snake down the barrel + the usual light coating of CLP oil on the slide etc. The usual rule with semiautomatic guns is that if it slides, oil it. If it rotates, grease it. Obviously, there i...

Re: Increased magazine capacity
I have trimmed the follower on a 5 round AK magazine to make it hold 10 rounds. In principle, this should work on any gun. I would, of course, have spare magazines first.

Re: Which Spring is best? 17#, 18#, 19#, 20#??
What happens if you just use the #17 hammer spring and leave the recoil spring on the barrel alone? I understand why you lighten the hammer spring, but what exactly does the recoil spring do when you change it?

Re: First time at the range
Does the 17 lb firing spring affect reliability? I heard that you should get the combo pack and use the 18 lb spring instead. What is the difference between both in terms of feel?

First time at the range
I just got my gun to the range today, fired 5 Hornady critical defense rounds + 50 rounds of cheap blazer ball ammo. The double action is unusable, but the single action is great. Pulling back the hammer is no big deal. I have the Wolf Spring packs and I have to install them. The gun is correctly si...
