Re: Underwood ammo, Hornady ammo
I'm not sure I follow this. I have a Bersa Thunder 380 that I generally don't carry but I 1) load a round, 2) decock and 3) install a full magazine which gives me a 7+1 capacity. With the weapon in a good holster I feel the first shot (DA) is a bit heavier than the other 7 but nowhere NEAR as light ...

Re: Trigger Will NOT Move
OK, FIXED!!!! This was easier than I imagined but have NO idea what caused it. :?: The beauty of having 2 of these pistols is that I removed the slide and grips from the functioning pistol and laid it next to the non-functioning one. I immediately noticed the trigger bar was further back on the &quo...

Trigger Will NOT Move
This is disappointing! I got this P-64 a week ago and for some reason during cleaning it out upon receiving it, I noticed the trigger spring was broken. I do not recall if I actually got the gun to dry-fire (even with that hideous DA trigger weight!) prior to stripping it down but it's been sitting ...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
I never remove firing pins unless there is a sign of a problem. I spray Remington action cleaner using the straw into the FP hole at the breech till it comes out the back end. I learned that lesson! I really wanted to check to make sure the FP channel was clean. It was. I am now going to restrict m...

Re: List of preferred (and not-so-preferred) parts dealers?
I got this site from a professional gunsmith friend of mine in Wisconsin. ecomm@sarcoinc.com That's the customer service email for Sarco, Inc. They do a lot of older, military firearms. They didn't have much for Radom P-64 but at least it was listed (with a picture) along with a bunch of other obscu...

Re: Were we just unlucky?
You get 2 magazines from AIM, and an original cleaning rod (which wasn't advertised on their site). The handle of the P-64 cleaning rod seems to be a multi-function tool of some sort. One end is a screwdriver for the grip panels. I haven't figured out yet what the other end is for. I wondered about...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
The definition of insanity..........Re- assemble a P64. But at least you did it and now you know what the firing pin, spring, and other assorted parts look like and how they work. Did you also take out the ejector, those have copious globs of cosmoline or some other foreign material that appears to...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
Yep, the firing pin spring can be a bugger. You need to use a set of hemostats or a thin set of needle nose with a heavy rubber band around the handles. With either of these you can push the firing pin way in then hold the firing pin with the makeshift hemostat. That frees up your hands for the det...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
OK, maybe I shouldn't have been so happy to get the info on taking the firing pin out. I did this today and all went reasonably well. Re-assembly was a major headache!!! I cleaned and checked and all actually looked OK telling me that this exercise wasn't really a big deal. Got it clean and w...

Re: Another Spring Question
You should've gotten the Wolff package hammer springs so you can choose which one is right for you/pistol. I have the 18# spring and DA pull is good enough for me to have the pistol on condition one. There's been quite a few report online on the 17# causing the mag to drop while shooting. Check thi...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
For the mag, slip a thin but long screwdriver through the slots on each side of mag near the bottom plate, hook fingers over the screwdriver and slightly depress the spring, the plate should then easily come off. Are you still holding the spring and have it compressed? Cup your other hand over the ...

Re: Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
Not sure which videos you've watch, but this one is more informative - http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4200 All semi auto pistols (that I know) has firing pin spring. It keeps the pin from protruding the breech face. That small pin at the bottom of the mag is the end part o...

Maybe You Can Answer These 2 Questions Please
I just got 2 P-64's yesterday (Saturday) and they were in fine condition. Got 'em from AIM Surplus and would use them again anyday. Before receiving the pistols I did some (a lot!) of reading and video watching. One thing continually mentioned was that P-64's had a "floating" firing pin an...

Re: AIM Surplus P-64
I ordered 2 P-64's from AIM Surplus on a Tuesday evening and I was picking those babies up on Saturday!!! What great service. Pistols were in fine condition. One was marked 1977 and the other 1975 so they're not really all that old. Yes, I will buy from AIM again and recommend them.
