Re: Best place from which to buy my P-64?
I have had good luck ordering from AIM Surplus. While they may be fractionally more expensive than other surplus sellers, they are more likely to include other items (like a 2nd magazine) in their cost, than some other sellers. Also, IMHO, they do a better job of "grading" the quality of t...

Re: J&G sales and Classic firearms feedback
Every example I have ever seen (either purchased by myself or by others that I know) from Classic has always been rated one to two NRA grades better than I would rate it. This is the exact opposite situation from my experience with AIM where I have received examples which we're actually in better co...

Re: P64 shooting tips
A Hogue Handall Jr (or PI) grip are both a little wider which helps spread the recoil across a wider surface lessening the "sting" in any one part of the web of the hand. A set of Wolf Spring (I did both recoil and main springs) takes the recoil away a little and deals with atrocious doubl...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?
A combination of recoil spring change, some change of grip (I have found that a Hogue Handall Jr. rubber slip-on works best for me), and a change in how you approach holding the pistol are what is necessary. Direct blowback pistols are not as forgiving of limp-wristed holds as Browning-style are. Yo...

Wolf Springs +5% P64 Magazine Springs
I did not see this listed anywhere else here, but it appears that Wolf Springs is now making +5% replacement magazine springs for your worn P64 mags.

Re: P64 Magazines in Stock???
Received mine today. Both had numbers etched on them and one had a broken floor plate. I called Lisa at SOG and they are sending out another floor plate today. Very happy with the customer service! One mag is pre-72 and one is post-72 and both are in very good condition. I have always had good cust...

Re: J&G sales and Classic firearms feedback
With my C&R, I recently got a "Very Good" condition CZ-82 from Classic Firearms. I was prepared (based on what I had read online) for their NRA "grading" of their products to be higher than what I was used to from AIM or SOG (whom I have had VERY good experiences with!) The w...

Re: P64 Magazines in Stock???
I got mine today in the USPS. It is a surplus post-72 ("new") magazine with one set of electro-pencil serial numbers (the hand-picked 1970 model P64 I got from AIM Surplus in 2015 came with one each pre-/post-72 magazines which both had multiple serial numbers), and a spring that is much t...

Re: P64 Magazines in Stock???
Sorry, been super busy. Got a confirmation while I was out of town (with no connectivity) on Monday from SOG: $16.43 + $7.15 S&H via USPS for a single magazine for a total of $23.58. A fair price for a surplus out-of-production magazine (I paid more for a surplus CZ-82 magazine from MidwayUSA re...

P64 Magazines in Stock???
SOG appears to have P64 magazines in stock. I placed an order for an extra after 1700 EST online today (a Friday) and did not get a confirmation. If I do not hear something by Monday when they open, I will call.

Re: PI/ new Kydex holsters
You are definitely peaking my interest, Russ.
Since I need to order a set of V.05 grips from you anyway, I might just have to order both those and a holster.

Re: PI/ new Kydex holsters
Interesting. I see in the photos that you wear the OWB waistband in the 3 o'clock position. How does it ride in the 5 o'clock position for those of us that prefer to carry there?
