Re: Alternative to safes?
There won't be any kids within "Oh cool, guns!" range, I just need a place to keep them that the cops will look at it and say "Nope, this is fine."

Re: Alternative to safes?
Not that kind of shelter. I had to leave my house for flooding, and stay with someone else. I just want something I can keep chained to a wall at the place I'm staying.

Re: Alternative to safes?
That sounds.....functional. But I'm looking for something that LLE won't raise an eyebrow at, should they have a need to stop by.

Alternative to safes?
This past month's weather has raised the issue of what is, and what is not, easily transportable from home to shelter and back again. Among them are safes. I need a multi-gun case that's lockable with a padlock, and has a hitch or something that I can chain to a wall or something. (reference: Jeff F...

Re: Are rear sights on all Mak's standardized?
Nope, I got the military model. And unfortunately, searches for "P-83 civilian model replacement sights" don't turn up much.

Are rear sights on all Mak's standardized?
I want to replace the rear sight on a p-83 with something I can actually pick up on. I just can't find any aftermarket stuff. I can find plenty though for the Bulgie's and Russian Makarovs. Are the dove notches on the P-83 the same size as the ones on the Maks? I mean, standardizing certain parts of...

Re: P83 Firing pin and decocker issues
I was pretty sure what the problem was to begin with, I just didn't want to take the whole thing apart, because now I have to put it back together.

Re: P83 Firing pin and decocker issues
To satisfy your curiousity, here's a photo of what I found inside. The pin spring did snap and had collapsed on itself. I'm pointing to it with the intact firing pin. I'm concerned about there being only one detent. I could've sworn there's supposed to be two.

Re: P83 Firing pin and decocker issues
When I say "rattle", I just mean the pin is loose inside. The spring isn't uncompressing all the way.

Re: P83 Firing pin and decocker issues
I don't think so. I can't push one end out without pushing the other back in. And if I press the back of the pin in and shake, nothing rattles. The spring, what's left of it, pushes back a little bit, so I think it's just weak. I'm gonna order a spring rehab kit from milsurp.com and just switch out ...

Re: P83 Firing pin and decocker issues
I'm having this issue now. The pin rattles around inside the slide, and prevents the safety from engaging or disengaging, unless i'm pointing the muzzle straight up or straight down. I think the spring is borked. I'm gonna write J&G and see if they won't send me one. I paid extra for hand select...

Re: Armscor M5 not ejecting high brass hulls
It's the same RIO buckshot that worked just fine when I started shooting. It's even the same batch no.

Armscor M5 not ejecting high brass hulls
When I first got this thing, I started off shooting RIO buckshot (white hull, roll crimp, high brass). Then I switched to Estate 7 1/2 because it was on sale locally for extra cheap. Recently I put on a KAK extended mag tube on, and went to see how much more of the RIO I could fit in, since the roll...

What is the future of 7.62x25 Tok?
I've been looking a long time at a PPs-43C, and I've also been watching the prices of Tokarev ammo. $17~$25 for 50rnds isn't appetising for what I'd wanted to be a plinker. Is there any reason to think demand will pick up, and production levels will mean cheaper boxes of the stuff?

Re: 7.62x39: Advantage of bolt-action over semiauto?
To be fair, the 7.62x39 American Ranch does accept Mini-30 magazines.
