EUREKA! Think problem solved
Ultra-sonic bath cleaned pistol. Problem: Pistol cycled, round (or snap cap) chambered -pistol fires fine, but when made safe, dropping hammer, then switching to fire, trigger fails to engage and flaps several pulls before engaging. Believed it to be a disconnector/ slide interface problem, disassem...

Re: Experienced opinions wanted
Thank you for the guidance, that is how I shall proceed. I changed the hammer spring to 20 lb to some benefit. Is the recoil spring at all relevant? (The amount of recoil is of no worry to me).

Experienced opinions wanted
Need some suggestions from those who have spent some time under the hood of the P64. I like mine but it has a flaw. After the slide has been cycled to load from the magazine, and the safety applied dropping hammer; then when the pistol is switched back to fire, the trigger has not re-engaged and tak...

Is Norm's spring the answer?
Here's the problem: When slide is cycled and round chambered, pistol works fine. But when round chambered and safety engaged- when safety is shifted to fire the trigger does not engage till the second or third pull. If the hammer is pulled back manually, trigger works fine. Will Norm's trigger sprin...

Re: Handsome pistol, misbehaving
Thanks for that. Pistol seems pretty clean & disconnector free moving. I got one of the better trigger springs, hopefully that will help, just got to study the break down & rebuild steps.

Re: Handsome pistol, misbehaving
Well I put original hammer spring back in and trigger still does not always reset, just a little less frequent. It seems to happen more after safety is engaged and released. Meanwhile the slide of my pal''s new p64 is still frozen back.

Were we just unlucky?
Having heard so many good things, my pal & I bought P-64s from J&G. My trigger doesn't always reset and he had worse problem. Pistol was well cleaned. After last round slide locked back and was hard frozen. We noticed trigger pin had walked out & the head of pin on left side might be bin...

Re: Handsome pistol, misbehaving
I read so much about the heavy D/A that unfortunately I changed it out before shooting it. Guess I could put the old spring back.

Handsome pistol, misbehaving
Greetings, just got onboard. Being pleased with my E.German Mak, I decided I should get little brother P64. Got a nice hand select from J&G. As recommended I put a new hammer spring on (19 lbs) and went to the range. About every other mag I was getting a slack trigger which sometimes, but not al...
