Last question (for now). What is the lb rating of the original recoil spring? 18lbs? 20lbs? etc

Yes, your first image is just where mine was stuck. The barrel was not off center.
I worked on it for a while this morning, and got it free!
Is the stuck-slide a problem with the P64 ?
Any other problems I should be aware of?

Thanks Keith150 and Curly1. I did have the trigger guard down and resting on the frame. So it should have been disengaged.
Still stuck. Can't lift and pull back to seat the slide. And cannot lift it and pull forward to remove it.

I've read the threads on a stuck slide. I'm 73 and perhaps don't have the strength in my hands any longer. I was able to remove the slide, but cannot get it back on. Safety off, magazine out, it will not move up and back for mounting. It seems stuck, and I cannot raise it, so it won't pull back and ...
