Re: P64 shooting today

Not sure what the complaint is of the OP regarding "unreasonable disassembly". The P64 is one of the easiest tear-downs around. Pretty much 3 pieces and steps: 1) Shift the trigger guard to the side 2) Pull the slide full rearward to lift off of frame 3) Remove recoil spring from the integ...

Re: Better Marksmen with the P64

Also Agree! To enhance the sighting, I took a dab of fluorescent yellow paint to the front sight blade. Makes the front sight really pop when you get it between the rear sight ears. Just spray a little puddle onto some paper and dip a Q-Tip or tooth pick into it and dab it onto the rear of the front...

Re: New member and a new 1974 P64

Hi Robhic, The grips came from Marschal grips out of Hungary. I think I paid around $75 or $80 for them plus shipping. They fit, look and feel great. There is no perceivable ridge at the seam in the back (unlike the original plastic ones). And what I really like with this style, is that the length i...

Re: New member and a new 1974 P64

Welcome Steve! I've found that a decent pair of padded shooting gloves helps emmensely at the range. After I got my CPL, I decided to improve my proficiency at the range, so I started up the ranks of NRA Pistol qualification, and was able to achieve Distinguished Expert, and now working on my Defens...

Re: P-64 and hollow point ammunition

I use PPV hollow points with very good reliability. And I've fired a couple thousand rounds through my P64 since I acquired it a little less than a year ago. No feed or eject problems whatsoever. The only concern I've had with ammo, has been the perceived "swelling" in the cases that lines...

Re: Swollen Casings?

Thanks Larry. I got these from Marschalgrips.com. He does nice work as witnessed from all his online photos. Although I did see numerous reviews that had some negative feedback on some. I had absolutely no problems, as I ordered ones that were already pre-made, so no custom ordering or delays. I thi...

Swollen Casings?

Hi All, Wondering if anyone else has experienced casings that show a swelling pattern after firing, as shown in the photo. They are quite consistent, and show a half-moon shape at the base of the casing. I primarily shoot Prvi Partisans, as they're inexpensive, available in bulk shipments, and I've ...

Re: Differences in P64s by year.

I've wondered if the mags are truly number matched to their pistols at the manufacturer. The numbering on the mags are done merely by electro-pencil engraving by hand, and while the pistol I picked up earlier this year from AIM had 1 "matching" mag and one spare with a different number, I ...

Not really, Rob.
Just convinced my wife I already had a short-range weasel gun, and that now I needed a long-range weasel gun!

Re: new to forum thinking of getting a p64 as carry weapon.

I'll chime in too. Got my P64 from AIM also - couldn't be happier. Went with the hand-pick, and was out-the-door for ~$250. Got the upgraded spring package from Wolf immediately (it actually arrived before the pistol did), and that made a big difference is shootability, especially first DA trigger p...
