Re: Slide Modification.
I'm sure a glove would help but for me I think I would lose something in my feel of the grip, especially with such a small single stack frame. Modifying the slide may irritate some purest but I'm interested in something I can shoot often and be more comfortable with if possible.

Slide Modification.
Is it possible to re-work the end of the slide to reduce "slide bite"? Perhaps a rounding off or removing material from rear of the slide.

Re: Unsafe P64?
Little confused here. If the disconnector could be the problem why did everything seem to work perfectly when I put another slide on the "defective" frame?

Re: Unsafe P64?
Swapped slide from another P64 on to this pistol and everything functioned perfectly. Safety catch appears badly worn and I feel this is my problem. Anyone have a source for this part? Checking Nemrich and Gunbroker.com but no luck so far. Thanks for all the help here.

Re: Unsafe P64?
perhaps I have not explained what happens properly. With a snap cap in the chamber and the safety lever on safe, I can cock the hammer and it stays cocked. I then put pressure on the safety lever as if to switch it to fire position but the hammer drops and the firing pin is blocked and the safety le...

Re: Unsafe P64?
Thanks for your reply. I misspoke about the hammer spring. It was a " lighter" 18# hammer spring.

Unsafe P64?
I have a P64 that that seems to be unsafe to fire. With a snap cap in the chamber and hammer cocked in the "safe" position, the hammer will drop on the snap cap as soon as the safety lever is attempted to move to the "fire position." In other words the safety lever acts like the ...

Re: P64 Newbie- Stiff Safety
Finally got my p64 safety smoother and much more to my liking. I gently filed and rounded over and polished the safety detention pin as suggested in other post. This improved the stiffness of the safety but I wanted to take it to the next level while still having the safety good and functionally saf...

Re: P64 Newbie- Stiff Safety
Thanks for your replies gentlemen. Looks like a wealth of knowledge that I can use on this forum. I always like to review post and disassembly procedures and experiences before tearing into a new firearm. I'll keep you posted on my safety issue and can't wait to fire this "little beast."

P64 Newbie- Stiff Safety
New to the site and have found it very useful so far in working on my first P64 purchase. Your complete disassembly instructions were most helpful as I completely disassembled the pistol to clean and polish. I have lightly polished the friction surfaces with 1000 grit sandpaper and buffed same with ...
