Re: P64 Origin Stories

I had just received my C&R license and wanted to take it for a test drive. Found a bunch of P-64's online that were C&R eligible, so I bought one. Was hand delivered to my door a few days later. That put a smile on my face. Opening the box made me smile even more. It was in pristine conditio...

Re: Finally took the P64 to the range

First time I shot mine was with PPU ammo, and the brass was badly Glocked. Too much to try to fix with a resizing die. People on this site told me PPU was too hot and to try Silver Bear 9x18 ammo. 1) My P64 loves Silver Bear steelcased ammo. Shoots very accurate with no feed or eject failures. 2) Si...

Re: P64 Hard Safety Action

Buy the parts listed above. You'll notice a distinct difference between your old plunger and the new one. Mine was so stiff that I was afraid I was going to break the lever. Get a disassembly guide and follow it carefully. I bought one off the interwebz but there may be a PDF download version on thi...

Re: Could not pass up another P64!

I suck with most pistols. I suck the least with the P-64. Those sights are soooo tiny, but they work pretty well for me. I could not even SEE the sight on mine. I STILL can't see them. But MY P-64 is magic -- it aims itself. I am better with P-64 than with my S&W M&P9, my Walther P.38, my W...

Re: Swollen Casings?

I made a post many months ago concerning "Glocked" brass from my P-64. I had just bought the pistol and PMC was the first ammo I tried (the only 9x18 in the store). Mine bulged exactly like your photos (unsupported area of the chamber). A 9x18 resizing die wouldn't entirely remove the bulg...

Re: P64 or makarov

+1 for AIM. Mine was like new, excellent condition and it wasn't even hand selected. Jim Same here. I didn't ask for a hand select, but the pistol AIM delivered to my front door (C&R purchase) was in absolute mint condition (except for a coat of grease, which cleaned up easily, and a stiff safe...

Re: Nuts! Launched My Firing Pin/Spring Into Outer Space!

I don't like working with my hands inside a bag, just don't. :( So what I've been doing (and must say it works well!) is put a cardboard box at one end of the work mat. No cardboard boxes handy, so I used a paper bag, and that worked well, as I managed to launch the firing pin again during reassemb...

Re: Nuts! Launched My Firing Pin/Spring Into Outer Space!

Thanks everyone, for the good advice. I have some 1000-grit, 1200-grit and 1500-grit sandpaper, and some tiny files in several different shapes that I got from a jeweler some time back. So I'm going to take the slow and safe route first, reassemble the slide, and see how it feels. I also have some f...

Re: Nuts! Launched My Firing Pin/Spring Into Outer Space!

I like to use a large plastic zip bag where possible when working with parts that can go flying it has saved me a couple of times. I usually do use a plastic bag for stuff like this. I wasn't planning on doing anything with the safety until next weekend, but I had just finished watching juniustaylo...

Nuts! Launched My Firing Pin/Spring Into Outer Space!

Yay -- found them! I thought I had a good grip on it as I was pulling out the safety lever, then it shot out and hit the far wall of my gun cave. Found the firing pin on the carpet next to my powder/primer cabinet, and the spring was tucked into a 3-ring binder on one of 18 bookshelves. Only took an...

Resolved the issue. Took five weeks to get from Warsaw to the USPS sorting facility in Brooklyn.

Now that the U.S. Postal Service has it, it will take five weeks to get from Brooklyn NY to Chicago IL.

Anyone Know This Guy?

I bought a P-64 holster from genuine-militaria_eu on gunbroker almost six weeks ago. After a month, I sent him a message asking for a tracking number, and he sent me one from Poczta Polska. I looked it up -- it was for a special delivery letter mailed from Warsaw and received two days later, in Wars...

Had the same experience with my P-64 from AIM. From start to finish, everything was perfect.

The more time you spend with your P-64, the more impressed you will be.

Vadirus wrote:You get 2 magazines from AIM, and an original cleaning rod (which wasn't advertised on their site).
The handle of the P-64 cleaning rod seems to be a multi-function tool of some sort. One end is a screwdriver for the grip panels. I haven't figured out yet what the other end is for.
