Looks like you got a good one! It's amazing how you can get attached to these old guns.

I have a 1968 P64 that came with 2 mags, one old style and one new style. Both mags work perfect in my pistol.

I recently purchased a 1968 manufactured P64 from AIM Surplus. It came with 2 magazines, one the old style s/n'd to the gun (short feed lips) and another later style magazine (longer feed lips). In 1972 some minor changes were made, the shape of the hammer was one change. If your other pistol was made after 1972, then that's the reason. As Curly1 stated, looks like it's working as it should be. My P64 is very tight and does the same thing. If I run the slide forward very slowly, it catches the hammer in the last 1/2 inch or so to decock, but closes if I push slightly on the back of the slide. It will not do that when shooting, the ...

Does the seller have multiples of this gun? It looks like they relisted another one just like the one you purchased.
Also the one in the picture looks like a later model (1974 on the slide), but it has an earlier style hammer?
