Same problem I had with mine. Try this first before doing anything radical: Clean the assembly with Gun Scrubber or similar product, apply several drops of Lucas Assembly Lube, then work the safety back and forth (it may take 100 or more rotations). I bought my P-64 to use as my ccw, but changed my mind when I was informed that the gun is not "drop safe" unless the safety was in the "on" position. In another post by Norm Sutton, he states that Home Depot carries a M3 metric hex nut .50 pitch. It will fit your grip screw, but you will have to blue it to match somewhat.
