Re: Walther P1 with feeding problems

"Eight warning shots followed by a well-aimed throw." Hahaha!

I read more good than bad when researching, so I'm not ready to give up on it just yet.

Walther P1 with feeding problems

I just picked up a Walther P1 from SOG. It is a 1963 Bundeswehr surplus without the hex pin or fat slide, and although it looks like it's been around the block a bit, it is in good functional condition. I fired it for the first time today with Winchester 115 grain FMJ ammo, which most P1/P38 shooter...

Re: Radom Factory Parts Available!

I'm new to the P64, but I learned that a post 1972 pistol will work with any mag. A pre-1972 might have problems with later mags.

The later mags have slightly longer feed lips, which can be ground/filed back to match the older mags. I did this with a late mag, and it seems to work fine in my 1969.

Just ordered an SKS

I have been wanting a C&R SKS for some time, and Classic has a sale going. I couldn't resist and put in an order.

Who else has one from Classic? How are they?

I sure wish I'd gotten one 20 years ago when they were $90 bucks and came with several undated rounds.

Re: NEED HELP! First Time to the range, Not good

What year is your gun? I'm new too, but I learned a bit reading here while waiting for my P64 to arrive. My gun is a 1969. It had one serial # matched mag (old style) and one other that turned out to be new style. The new style mags have longer feed lips, when compared to the old style. Compare them...

I have a Kawasaki W650 and my favorite, a Russian IMZ Ural sidecar rig.

Re: NEED HELP! First Time to the range, Not good

Are you maybe using post-1972 mags in a pre-1972 pistol?

Re: Another new P64 owner

Okay, so I did a bit of reading about new vs. old magazines and I carefully ground and filed the feed lips on my new-style mag so that it matched the old-style one, more or less. My ammo came, a couple of boxes of Silver Bear FMJ, so I tried it out for the first time. 8) Both magazines worked withou...

Another new P64 owner

Hi all, I just finally broke in my C&R and got a 1969 P64 a couple of days ago from Classic. I have not even fired it yet (my ammo order is scheduled to arrive today, so I'll update). Although listed as G/VG, I'd call the gun VG/E. There is just a bit of holster wear on the muzzle, and it looks ...
