Re: my 9x18s
I'm sure like many folks here, I have multiple examples of the same firearm. Two of my Vz-82s had seen better days for their finish. Both function perfectly but needed that "mid-life" upgrade. I chose Cerakote.

Re: Severe Malfunction
I'm gonna provide him with all the sources that I know and refer him to this site. What little info out there, found on YouTube was a guy that referenced that if the extractor was caught in the slide, it "Is hell trying to get it off and he needed to use a leather bound hammer" We shall see

Re: Severe Malfunction
The part that is frustrating is I am so unfamiliar with these fine guns. And when I call around to gunsmiths I get the "What's a P-64?" There is a lad that has a shop about 100 miles from me that is highly recommended and specializes in complete refurbishment of CZ-82s and cerakote finishe...

Re: Severe Malfunction
Please understand I am getting extremely frustrated with all this. I have enjoyed shooting these. In s couple of weeks, I am driving north to visit with a gunsmith to have a couple of my CZ-82s to be refinished and refurbished. It's a 5 hour round trip. If I find that it will be too expensive to fix...

Re: Severe Malfunction
I'll try your old trick for the first gun. For the 2nd. After loading a magazine into the gun and racking the slide, my gun is set for SA. After firing, the shell is extracted and a new round chambered. But instead of the hammer staying back, it resets into the DA position. If I cock the hammer back...

Re: Severe Malfunction
Yeah Curly I tried that. And even gave it to a younger man with a stronger grip to try. It is really stuck. So 2 of my 4 have problems. The latest one, a really beautiful perfect finish with wooden grips, resets the hammer ever time it fires. See my other posting. Guess I'm just gonna have to find a...

Re: DA only?
...so are you saying that the hammer stays cocked but won't fire with a trigger pull, or that it immediately falls without a trigger pull? It immediately falls without a trigger pull. It's like it goes through a decocking mode. And maybe that's the answer. Something is wrong with the safety lever m...

DA only?
I picked up my final P-64 yesterday from my FFL. ( I live in Maryland and in a few weeks we will have some of the wrong gun laws in the country) It is a beautiful '76 model with excellent finish and wooden grips. So I immediately field stripped it to check for oil and then headed to my clubs outdoor...

Re: Severe Malfunction
My new friends, I HAVE SO MUCH TO LEARN!!!! The replacement parts arrived and I learned a new lesson. The early model guns have a different trigger guard, spring, plunger and pin. My '68 has a lighter spring, longer plunger and smaller pin. I continue to shoot it, noting my hand positions and have n...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO
I came to this site to find answers and found it kinda felt good. Not all warm and queasy but comfortable like an ah an old ah ah GUN!! Yeah, like an old gun :-) So I moved to a state that in the next45 days will be one of the most restrictive gun law states in the union. My purchases to date have b...
