Re: Finish
Hah, I didn't realize I created a new thread either. Thanks for the info. I'll look into that finish. Working on a another holster now and making a better attempt to follow the contours with stitching. I'll post it when I get it done. Thanks again for the help.

Finish
Thanks for the suggestion. I see what you mean about stitching along the profile. This is the first time I have wetmolded leather. I guess I tought it would be stiffer after molding....now makes sense why all the other holsters out there follow the profile with the stitching  haha. Is there an...

Re: Homemade pocket holster
Thanks. I've still got A LOT to learn. I've only made this and some civil war reenacting items. Learning, and having fun with it though.

Re: Homemade pocket holster
I use a harness stitching awl to punch the holes and punch as i sew. I just mark the line i want to stitch and then try to stay on it. For now I a just using a padded vice when I stitch. Working on making a stitching pony to hold the piece to stitch. Supposed to be easier that way from what I've read.

Re: Homemade pocket holster
No machine. This was hand sewn with a saddle stitch using waxed linen thread. I've been messing with leather for a few months now. First holster I have tried. Got a few other ideas in the works.SalemCat wrote:What Sewing Machine do you use ?

Homemade pocket holster
Made myself a pocket holster for my new P64. We still don't have carry here in Hellinois, but hopefully soon. Figured I'd try my hand at a few holsters to see what I like when it comes time. Here's my first attempt at a pocket holster. Any tips/suggestions are appreciated. http://img.photobucket.com...

Re: Any source for ammo?
Thanks for the links. CTD is insane . Ordered some PPU from SG. Not a bad price and brass case so I can reload it. Now I just need to find components. Thanks again. This site is great for finding what you need.

Does anyone know of a source for ammo currently. Just got my first p64 and am dying to shoot it. Can't find ammo for it anywhere.

Re: grips
Has anyone tried the Simm's Limbsaver? They have them at my Gander Mtn. store, just not sure what size to get.

Re: Where to purchase a P64 now
I bought one from classicfirearms.com for $229 plus shipping...around $250. Add in the ffl transfer fee it's around $270. My local Gander Mtn. has then for $250...I would have been better off there price wise. I'd check Gander if you have one nearby.

Re: Best source for 9x18 Bullets
Can anyone recommend a current source? I'm having difficulty finding anything at all. I would prefer hard cast for range use.
