Re: Slide
I have used the 2 X 4 method with gloves and it worked like magic. I just wasn't strong enough or coordinated enough to do it without an assist. Thanks guys for the help. The P64 slide mounts and dismounts real slick. Papa like! :P This completes another step on all of my prepper activities. Just go...

Re: Slide
lkLawson, wow the ideas are popping here on the forum. Will probably use the 2 X 4 idea before all is done.
Thanks a bunch.

Re: Slide
High Curly1 and thanks for the quick response. I have not fired the gun yet. I'm anxious to do so. That will help as you suggested I'm sure. I have used my gloves too. They help a lot since during this whole process I nicked the end of my dominant hand thumb and it is giving me fits. Also good idea ...

Re: Slide
I have a new to me, 1975 P64. It is a beauty. But, the double action trigger pull required two fingers. Without having fired the P64 I have read all the great posts on recoil and hammer spring issues. So, I ordered and installed the recoil and hammer kits and chose the 18 lb hammer spring and the 18...

Re: Made some videos
Thank you Junius, My other thought was that if the hammer spring is really strong, I would think that this would make the DA feature harder to pull the trigger in that mode. Mine feels gritty and takes a whole lot of finger power to fire in DA. Also my decock lever is hard to change from one positio...

Re: Made some videos
Junius
Thank you for the great information and prompt reply. I'll experiment some with these springs and see how they work for me. I think I read somewhere in this thread that there is some interaction with the firing pin spring after changing the main spring. I'll keep looking.
Thanks again.

Re: Made some videos
I really like the videos! Thanks for unlocking them. I am going to be changing the recoil spring and hammer spring. I ordered the spring packs for both recoil and hammer springs from Wolff. What lb.rating is best to make the recoil easier? After changing it to lessen the recoil, will it be harder to...

Re: Made some videos
Tried to watch the videos but it sez it is private. I have just acquired a P 64 and to be able to watch your video would be very helpful.
Thanks,
