"Cocked and Locked" Mod
I modified my P64 5 years ago, the month I bought it, because with my arthritic trigger finger the gun was useless. I shaved enough off the lower edge of the disconnector that it could not trip the single action sear when the safety was engaged. Carried it that way (cocked and locked) up until I sol...

Dry fire P64
Since 9 X 18 snap caps are not easy to find, consider what I did - put a cigarette filter under the hammer and dry fire until either the filter or your finger needs replacement (LOL) - "Ivan"

Don Hume JIT
Even better, IMHO, is the Don Hume JIT # 18, originally for the Walther PPK. A bit tight in the trigger guard at first, but once "stretched in", nearly perfect!

Dry firing a P64
You might consider what I did - put a cigarette filter back of the safety to cushion the hammer fall and dry fire until your finger wears out. Crude, but effective?

Anjdrifter - Who me? I donno. Does a 950, a Sterling, a CZ 'DUO', two Ravens (one N.I.B.), a Titan, and a Mauser Model 1914 make me qualified? Do .22s count? A Jennings, a Phoenix, an AMT BackUP, another Sterling, and a STAR Lancer, and a NAA folder might tip the scales? By the way, I "scored&q...

It may be just advertising 'hype', but check out the MagSafe .25 ACP 22 gr. "Defender": 1,750 fps and 150 ft/lbs in a Beretta 21. They say on the package, "A .25 loaded with MagSafe is more potent than a .380 full of hollowpoints"

2/23/08 P-64 at gun show
At the OTHER gun show in SW Ohio today, I saw a clean P-64, 2 mags, for $225, OTD. It was labeled "9 X 18 Makarov". Even though I got my P-64 for $160, years ago, at the show red is talking about, that show is not known for its good prices on anything. That's where I saw my first $350 CZ-7...

CZ82 Won't Fire!
A pierced primer is just what it sounds like, a hole clear through it, allowing high pressure gas into the action. Usually a sign of overpressure handloads, incorrect headspace, and/or a firing pin that has somehow(?) gotten 'sharp' or too long. With the slide off the gun, your firing pin should be ...

Snapped Triggerguard !!!
Interesting... Went to safe and examined 5 samples of 'swing down trigger guard take down' pistols. PA-63, FEG AP MPB, PPK all have about 1 mm of gap behind the lug and in front of barrel block on frame, just like the P 64. In the Mak (Russian/Imez) the lug bears directly on the barrel block, ditto ...

Broken P64
Hard to diagnose remotely, but it sounds very much like the trigger bar is being held down someway. Crud/cosmo in its cavity, ditto the disconnector, or perhaps weak trigger spring. Clear chamber (always!), remove right grip, cycle action (easier if remove recoil spring and put slide back on) and st...

Whatever happened to ... (past forum members)
What can I say? I had no idea that someone would notice my 'silence', how flattering? Actually, I've been here all along, but didn't have an input that I thought needed posting. You know, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." OK, I a...

Trigger Bar - HELP!!
Did you remove the trigger bar while cleaning? It comes off very easily, but getting it back together with it's spring correctly positioned can be VERY difficult. I suspect that the spring is not correctly fitted. See a number of posts here about tricks that we have developed for getting it back tog...

It's called a "suppressor" and you need a tax stamp and permission from your local LEO chief to wear one....? Oh, and getting your muzzle threaded is a problem too.

Fobus paddle holster
Saoirse: Had exactly the same problem with my PPK and its 'matching' Fobus. Since the holster was a fleamarket box buy, couldn't return it. Drilled out the rivets holding the halves together and then pop riveted it back together with some of the pop rivet backing washers (just one) between the halve...
