Yeah, the finish on the 82s is prone to wear. It's surprising, because the finish on my other CZs are outstanding. I guess that the painted finish on the 82 was a cost-cutting measure.the Czech's insisted on paint (blacking) for the finish instead of bluing or parkerizing.

Is the cz82 too large to conceal carry? The cz82 is a nice size for carry. The P64 is noticeably smaller however and is getting into the range of something that you could carry in a pocket. In my opinion, that's cosmetic and shouldn't effect performance. I agree. it probably mostly is cosmetic. And I think Curly's idea about the the slide smacking the breech during assembly is a likely cause of much of the damage, since my slide has some wear in the area that would potentially impact ...
