Re: New mosin nagant owner ammo question
You can buy new production but there is nothing wrong with suplus corrosive as long as you clean the gun property and don't let it sit around. It's the salts that are left behind that cause the problem. I clean mine by running warm water down the barrel, then normal solvent and patches. The bolt ass...

Re: New mosin nagant owner need help with how to clean
Heat will melt the cosmolene , rags and qtips to wipe it and dig it out. Bolt assy will have to be taken apart , there are some good you tube videos on disassembling and reassembling. Once the bulk of it is off I've used simple green on metal parts. My stocks I actually put in the deep sink and used...

Re: Bulgarian Makarov
I own all 3 guns plus an EG Makarov. I think k the Makarov is a much better gun than either of the other 2. The Bulgy is a true makarov, the p64 and p83 only shoot the same round and this all they have in common. The p64 is uncomfortable to shoot, the p83 has the huge hammer sticking out so conceal ...

Re: Color Fill P64 Engraving
It's easy to do, I use paint, dab it on with a qtip, then take a tissue with a little nail Polish remover and lightly wipe off the excess. If you pushed too hard and grabbed paint out of the letters just do it again. Shouldn't hurt the value any because the nail Polish remover can take it all off pr...

Re: Refinishing
I reblued my p64, CZ82, and my p83. I used Mark Lee's express blue on all of them. It a rust blue process that will give very good results if you follow the directions. Right now I'm refurbishing an SKS and used Brownels Oxpho blue on the entire barrel and reciever and looks excellent. It's all in t...

Re: Silver Bear 94 gr FMJ "Sparks" When Shot?
Probably just muzzle flash caused by unturned powder that ignites as it leaves the barrel. I get some with my p64.

Re: V.04 grip with grip screw
It's a longer screw but the original nut. Original screw would need a much deeper countersink. I wanted it just below the surface with as much grip material as possible. I cold blued the screw.

Re: V.04 grip with grip screw
Try drilling one side first, put the grip on the gun. If your hole is lined up OK use the the hole you drilled and the hole in the frame as a guide to drill the other sideKetchman wrote:Damn. No drill press in my tool arsenal. And I am not sure my aim with a hand drill would hit it straight through.

Re: V.04 grip with grip screw
I placed one side of the original grip on top, lined up the edges, marked the hole with a drill bit, then drilled it through on my drill press.
