Re: Best way to eject live round?

Well, you can bet "booger hook" is now going to be completely overused by myself when communicating with friends and family. I think I'll even go far as to invent subjects of conversation just so I can work it in. :) Thankfully my '71 P-64 locks back on an empty mag, so that's how I'm goin...

Re: Best way to eject live round?

Thanks Kirk & Curly, I appreciate the info.
I will do exactly what you fellers have suggested.
Just one more question...
What's this thing called "phonebook?"
Hehe, JK! I actually have some here.

Re: Best way to eject live round?

LOL, love the "booger hook" thing. :) Thanks for the info guy. The reason I want to do this is I travel to UK/EU on business and typically am away for 6-9 months each trip. So, I put my pistols in a safe deposit box and like them to be completely unloaded. Say, why is empty mag important a...

Best way to eject live round?

Hi all, I was just wondering if someone could tell me the safest way to eject a live round from chamber. I though I saw something about taking the pistol off of safe to do it or something, now I can't seem to search up the thread. I plan to start carrying with one in the spout, decocked, but I'll st...

Re: Correct de-cocking procedure?

Hey Folks! I finally got in some range time with the P-64, I love it! :) I used Hornady Critical Defense which seems to be a bit snappy on the hand, it did surprise me that it hurt worse than my .45, but as it is my carry piece and that is its primary purpose, I figure if I ever have to use it in se...

Re: Correct de-cocking procedure?

Thanks guys, indeed, I feel a bit nervous about clicking it into safe, but I'm also uneasy about releasing the hammer whilst trying to slide it into safe mode!
:)
Anyhoo, gonna get to the range in a day or so, will post a range report.

Re: Correct de-cocking procedure?

Ah, thanks, that's how I've been "practicing" the motion but won't actually put a round in the chamber until I get the pistol to the range for the first time, hopefully this week. Just to clarify... You just use the safety lever alone and let it click down to safe and do not ease down hamm...

Correct de-cocking procedure?

Hi everybody, Noob with another question about the P-64... What's the correct way to de-cock/lower hammer with a live round in the chamber? Should one just slide the safety on and let it click hard on the stops or is it better to kind of ease the hammer down whilst sliding into safe position. I inte...

Noob looking for wood grips

Hi Everyone,
I'm a noob, my P-64 just arrived today, lovely little gun!
Anyhoo, I want to know where I can buy the same exact wood grips that are on the P-64 on the main page of this site.
Does anybody know what kind of wood that is and where I can buy them?
Thanks for any advice!
:)
