Re: Comparison: P-64 vs Taurus pt709 Slim Nine
Very interesting, but it looks to be beyond my skill level. Someone else had a sight mod in that thread that is closer to what I can do- JB Weld a tube behind the blade. Thanks for the link though. Good read.

Re: Think a 22lr isn't lethal? Think again.
I've heard/read that the standard .22 LR has enough power to penetrate the skull, but not to exit, so it just bounces around. Supposedly this, along with the ease of suppression is why mob hitmen favored the round.

That looks nice. Seems like a great price too. Can you put up a few more photos?

Akkk... Never mind. Did a google search, and found a reply to the same question on this board. The answer is no. Dammit.

PPK Grips
I realize that this probably won't work, and I only have PPK photos to look at, vs. an actual PPK, but just looking at photos, the grips look very similar. Is there any possible way you could mod PPK grips to fit a P64?

Re: Manufacture year
C&R, if I understand correctly, can be applied to newer guns if they have a curiosity or historic value, not just 50+ yrs old. If you look at the full list, there are some interesting guns that qualify. There are a couple of different Uzi SMG's, as well as a bunch of different limited edition/an...

As an aside, the XD series of pistols are made in Croatia, by HS Produkt. I never knew that before.

Re: Rear sight- Removable?
I was just thinking it would be cleaner if I could remove it rather than taping it off. It's such a small surface to work with. I do like the dremel idea though...

Rear sight- Removable?
Hello all, I know that everything I've read states that the rear sight is fixed, but it looks like it should be removable or adjustable. If nothing else, I'd like to remove it and paint it a lighter brighter color. I have issues with the sights as is when aiming at a black target. I saw in the Tauru...

Re: Comparison: P-64 vs Taurus pt709 Slim Nine
OP- I like the fiber optic sight that you have on your P64. Also, it looks as if you've done something to the rear notch sight? How did you go about doing this? I've found the factory sights on mine to be less than optimal in darker conditions, esp against a dark target. I've used sight paint on the...

Re: Question on a P-83
I just bought me a P-83 and I noticed the hammer does not touch the firing pin Is this normal or is there a problem Billy PHG- Do you also have a P64? If so, which do you prefer at this point, and how does the build quality of the P83 compare to the P64? I've recently discovered, and become fascina...

Re: Question on a P-83
I recently picked up an IJ70-18A and noticed the same thing. I suppose it's a safety feature? What's the pencil test? If the hammer will snap a #2 it's in good shape or something along those lines?

Re: Slide finish color
Here we go. Not the best photo in the world, but it's a decent representation of the reddish color. Perhaps more of a rust color rather than a plum color.

Re: Slide finish color
Interesting... I'll see if I can't get some decent photos of it tonight. Based on the photo above, it looks similar to yours, Mr. Machined. Mine is a 1976, and while the grips are rough, doesn't look to have much wear.
