Re: How many P-64's are there ?

Most people I ask at gun shows have never heard of a P-64. Some will ask, "do you mean P-83?"

I guess they aren't as prevelant here in Alabama. :?

It's a great gun, I carry mine every day. I've recently turned my father-in-law on to 'em. He had to have one for himself.

Re: Safety question from a newbie

Are you Byron or Bill? LOL! Haha, no sorry. The P-64 is certainly a rarity item. I usually go to the Gun Shows that come through Montgomery, mostly to browse current prices and look at WWII collectables. Sometimes though I'll get to asking about something I need, like a specific mag or grips etc. I...

What Model Year Do You Own?

I know this has been done over and over, but I am bored and I'm curious to see what year is the most popular among our membership.

I have a 1971.

Well I'm Back Gentlemen. :-)

It's been a while since I posted, mainly because I haven't been to the range with my 1971 since my girl decided she was "sick." Some of you may remember me discussing a feed issue I was having the last time I took her to the range with me. A round would not properly transition from the nex...

my life's work is pest control. I can say that the ant, like the termite, is an incredible social creature capable of social achievements that dwarf humanity.

Re: First Outing, Several Problems

I took my '71 in to the gunsmith. He told me I had snapped the spring in two and had to manufacture a new one himself. He didn't do anything about the fail to feed issue. We'll see what happens on the next outing.

Re: First Outing, Several Problems

Yeah I screwed up by forcing the hammer down while I had the gun disassembled. I took it in to my gunsmith that I use when I do something dumb like this from time to time, and he said he could make things right. Thanks for the responses fellas. BTW: I did manage to get the slide back on after I had ...

Re: First Outing, Several Problems

No, the hammer itself was back while the weapon was dissassembled. Now, it is back in place but the trigger has no influence over it. I can pull the trigger all day but it acts like the safety is on, i.e. no resistence to pull and no effect on the hammer. And as I said there sounds like something is...

Re: First Outing, Several Problems

OK, so I opened her up today and gave her a real good cleaning. While I was doing that, I noticed the hammer was back and thus I wouldn't be able to reassemble the weapon. So, I fiddled with different things to try to get it to lock down. I finally got it do so, but now the trigger is nolonger engag...
