Has anyone purchased an M44 carbine from AIM or Wideners?
Hi - Wondering if anyone has purchased a Russian M44 7.62x54r carbine from the batches that AIM Surplus and Wideners are so selling? If so, would you mind commenting on what you received? Thx!

Re: Polish P83 Wanad
I bought one from SOG in the $188.00 range previously mentioned. It's competent, and SOG sent me a VG to VG+ example, but it was not impressive in any way. The little.P-64 could open up.a can o' whupa** on an assailant bearing the P-83. I wouldn't buy it again. But it is interesting as a comparison ...

New P-64 from Wideners
ALCON: In case anyone is on the fence, thinking about buying another (or first) P-64: I ordered a P-64 from Wideners on 12/4 and received it 12/8. That was very fast for Wideners. Cost was about $250.00 with 2 magazines, a cleaning rod and shipping by 2-day UPS air. No holster in this batch. What I ...

Re: Pocket carry of P-64?
True, it is a little chunk of steel, isn't it?!! But it runs like a freight train. My second one comes tomorrow, I hope it's the reliability and accuracy wonder that the firt was. My wife ran off with that one...even chicks dig the P-64 I guess...

Re: Pocket carry of P-64?
Sorry I couldn't log in earlier to say: Thanks, gentlemen, one and all, for a number of useful pieces of information. (My laptop is less reliable than my P64(s)). I just ordered another from Widener's today. If it's as good as my first, it'll do very well as a carry pistol. I think I'll ask Chris at...

Pocket carry of P-64?
Good evening all: I had first thought the P-64's too heavy for pocket carry, but now wonder? Does anyone have any feedback on pocket carry of the P-64? Good or bad idea? Any good holsters for pocket carry specifically? I had read, with interest, comments by 2 or more members specifically saying that...

Re: Who here shoots surplus ammo?
I concur with the above. I have not seen surplus Makarov ammo (in large, ready, easily mail ordered quantities) for years. And its a shame I didn't hoard in the '90s when it was dirt cheap. However, I think TulAmmo and Brown or Silver Bear are pretty equivalent to a milsurp round might be like if av...

Re: Need some help..
I think you're really going to enjoy it. My guess is you can proceed without many worries about springs or ammo. The P-64 has been a delight in my collection. My spouse was absolutely deadly with that (puny Polish pugilist) pistol from moment one. I caught up after 1 or 2 more sessions with it. So, ...

Re: Need some help..
Oh, I should add that I paid 179.99 for my P-64 with 2 magazines. It wasn't unissued, but still very nice. It shoots preternaturally well. I have literally never seen such performance from such a short barrel. Not to mention the cheapest steel cased ammo I can get. Almost spooky.

Re: Need some help..
Hi Sir: I would suggest, in order: 1) Get your 03 C&R FFL from the ATF. It's easy and takes 3-4 weeks if you have no criminal record(!). 2) Order a P-64 from J&G Sales, Classic Arms, or Southern Ohio Gun. I think all 3 still have them. 3) Note that the safeties are extremely stiff sometimes....
