1968 p64 no decocker

Hi, my p64 does not decock the hammer when setting the safety, I've taken it apart and all parts are there and functional so I'm just wondering if anyone else has one that don't decock the hammer when the safety is on?

Essentially I can carry it in condition 1 just like my 1911, I do kinda like it.

No way are you getting mine back, even if they didn't fit right. Your grips are the absolute best there is(sorry marschell), I have not changed any springs on my p6...

Re: P-64 CARRY SET-UP: POCKET CARRY PERFECTION

Wow, I have that exact holster from outbags, it's very nice and holds my little dragon very firm.
Ps, I now have russ's polish irons on mine too, as of today.

What a great carry arrangement

Re: cutting factory main spring

Ok, nobody wants to comment. Well I got my spring kit from wolf today, I did the main spring change, but before that I cut one ring off of the factory spring and, wow, its allmost exactly the same, I shot it both ways with no issues at all so for me I left the cut down factory spring in it. So if an...

cutting factory main spring

hi all i was talking with a couple of buddies(one is a gunsmith) about what can be done about the tough DA on my p64. now we all know about just getting a spring kit from wolf, but my buddies said that they both cut one ring off of the main spring and grinded it flat with a dremmel, and after firing...

Re: springs again

wow, holy crap, i could see how that would be bad, i dont think it could happen to me while holstering, i have my thumb over the hammer when i reholster, but ill watch out for clothing pulling the hammer, though i mostly wear tee shirts here in sunny arizona.

Re: springs again

[quote="Curly1"]I have the 22lb and 17lb springs. Recoil is still on the snappy side.

im definatly going to use the 22# with out a doubt, not sure if im even going to change the hammer spring though, the trigger really dont feel all that bad to me.

Re: springs again

good info, i do try to keep my thumb over the hammer when im holstering, and yes, i did notice that is the natural position of the hammer, i do see how one could push down on the hammer making it contact the firing pin, although i dont know if that would be enough pressure on the firing pin to set o...
