Is my P64 operating correctly?
I noticed something about the operation of my P64 and want to know if it is supposed to operate this way. With no magazine in the gun, no round in the chamber, and safety on, if I rack the slide backward and then slowly guide the slide forward to close, the slide stops about 1/4" before closing...

Re: surplus market dried up?
http://www.southernohiogun.com you'll need to send in your C&R, or have your FFL send in their FFL, to see what they have, but they have them in stock. They don't seem to list the P64. Too bad. I think that Classic Arms in N.C. still sells them. nope, sold out http://www.classicfirearms.com/c-r...

Re: Small frame inaccurate shooters
I get pretty tight groups with both my East German Makarovs and my P-64. I do a little bit better with the Makarovs but that is because I think they have slightly better sites than the P-64.

Re: 1968 p64
You have nothing to worry about. My P-64 was made in 1972, and I often carry my East German Makarov's as well which are about 10 years older than the P-64. Metal does not get weaker with age. On all of them, when I pull the trigger, they all go boom.

I carry with 1 in the chamber with the double action trigger engaged. even with the wolf springs its still quite a pull to get it to fire.

Re: Wolf Spring question
Finally got the chance to take my P64 to the range this morning. The wolf springs give it a hair trigger :-o in single action, and double action firing was now do-able with one hand. I haven't made my mind up if I should conceal carry my east german makarov or the P-64, however. Both have things I l...

Wolf Spring question
I purchased a Wolf Springs 22lb recoil spring and 17lb hammer spring. I got them installed without any problems. In the same bag with the recoil spring was another spring that is about the same length as the hammer spring, but has a slightly smaller diameter, the coils of it are thinner, and the spr...

lost P-64 disassembly tool, where to get another?
I purchased a P-64 from classicarms.us recently. Somewhere between leaving a friend's house with it and getting home, I lost the disassembly tool that has the screwdriver tip on one end and the punch tip on the other. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement one, or is it really not needed whe...
