Re: TRIGGER QUESTION
My 1976 P-64, as you have noted with yours, also does not make contact with the frame/trigger guard and stops just short of contact as well.

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
The P-64 is not alone in that it can experiene an AD in that manner. Many single action semi-autos share(d) that attribute. You are indeed lucky... a femoral artery hit would likely be fatal... not to mention the family jewels

Re: Hornady custom ammo?
Critical Defense uses a different projectile, the FTX... designed to expand more reliably after penetrating clothing etc., has a soft plastic plug in the cavity of the projectile along with a few other jacket design changes . I like the XTP projectile as well, good penetration...I wouldn't feel unde...

Re: Concealed Carry
Welcome fellow Badger. I've carried handguns professionally for over 30 years. I retired a bit over a year ago and carried concealed on my Federal HR218 credentials in Wisconsin... soon to carry concealed with the much less restrictive civilian Wisconsin CCW license. The P-64 is an excellent CCW wea...

Re: J&G Sales P-64 Quality
J&G, about two weeks ago, 1976 P-64... no crud, no rust, appeared unissued. Was the $149 sale plus $20 hand select. Definately worth the extra cash... magazine was used, not numbered to the gun.

Re: Slide Popped Off My P64 During Firing
Now that's a new one... interesting. It would be nice to know the exact reason for the failure.... metal fatigue would have been my guess. Enough hot rounds with a weak recoil spring could do it... or one very over pressure round <grin>.

Re: new p64
Also... I know it's cheap. For a reason.... Semi Auto's do NOT like aluminum cased ammo like the original Blazer used in quantity. Even if it works, small amounts of aluminum are clawed off the case rim and adhere under the extractor claw. Used enough... it WILL cause issues with extraction... and o...

As a law enforcement firearms instructor for 28 years... the usual cause of not chambering a round and returning to battery are, in frequency seen on the range: 1. 85% Weak grip/wrist causing a failure to feed or "stove pipe" type malfunction. 2. 10% Contact with a barricade or other obstr...

Springs etc.
I installed the 22# recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and 18# hammer spring today. All went easily but that little safety detent plunger sure is a bugger for people like me that can't see well up close to get into that darn small hole and get pushed in. While I was in there I deburred (st...

Re: Interesting tidbit from the Radom web page...
Yeah... interesting that the P-64 was considered too expensive and time consuming to produce. It's understandable that the allure of injection molding of polymer plastics and MIM metal parts, IE: speed, low cost, little training for machine operators and much less finish work would eventually make h...

Interesting tidbit from the Radom web page...
Maybe already posted. What I found interesting was the production figure... "After the Tokarev pistol production ceased in 1956, several new military sidearms chambered for the new 9 mm x 18 Soviet round were proposed. The Radom design team (headed by R. Białostocki and R. Chełmicki) designed t...

Re: Hello all.... "New" to me P-64 Arrived Today (J&G)
You bet... I've had a C&R for a loooong time and usually buy my "collectibles" face to face. This time I got lucky... sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I agree, for $169 it's a real bargain.

Hello all.... "New" to me P-64 Arrived Today (J&G)
Hello everyone... very informative forum here and I'm glad to have found it. My "new" to me P-64 arrived today. I had ordered it from J&G and paid the extra $20 for hand select. Either I got lucky, or they really did select a nice weapon for the extra $20 because it's in excellent cond...
