Re: Wolff Recoil Spring Fitment Problem

I think I'm gonna order the 22# recoil spring and do this. The 18# seemed worthless since I can't tell a difference in recoil so I went back to stock. I guess I'll keep it around as a spare now.

Re: looking for a 45

Here's my Para-USA 1911 Government. It's a last gen PXT 1911 SSP. Has all the bells and whistles. $600 at a gun show. It's been very reliable aside from when the recoil spring wore out after 1000 rounds, with a new recoil spring it jammed for about 250 rounds and now it hasn't jammed in 500. I'd rec...

Wolff Recoil Spring Fitment Problem

I ordered an 18# recoil spring from Wolff and it "fits" and works fine. "Fits" is in quotation because when I use the recoil spring it's a pain in the neck to get the slide on, BUT it WILL go on with a ridiculous amount of force. Is this normal or do I need to break it in? Maybe a bad spring? Idk......

Re: 1911 FTFs from Bad Magazines?

I'm going to do that, but I'm not going to get a chance to shoot much because I'll be busy all week. I bought a Chip McCormick Shooting Star Magazine and it seated properly as compared to the the Para magazines. Also tried my buddy's Kimber magazines and they are fine. I only had Remington UMC JHP r...

Re: 1911 FTFs from Bad Magazines?

It's hard to tell if it's with both mags because they are exactly the same mag. Both are the original ones that came with the gun. They are heavily used. I feel like both of them do it but one does it more than the other. Neither of them appear to seat perfectly. @Normsutton- I saw the mags you were...

1911 FTFs from Bad Magazines?

I have a Para USA PXT SSP 1911 (whew). When I first got it, it was used and it almost never jammed. maybe 3 times in 500 rounds. Recently it's gotten pretty bad. I had it jam 3 times in 50 rounds Saturday morning and once today in 50 rounds. I've never had anyone teach me about guns until Saturday m...

Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody

I've shot my buddy's 9mm RIA 1911 and it was great! Learned how to take apart a 1911 on that sucker. The one I shot was a great shooter but not the prettiest thing ever. Regardless, the quality was great and the price was right. Congrats!

Re: Llama 45

I saw a ton of those at the gun show here today priced at $550. Seemed a little high but everyone swears they are good shooters. Seemed solid and basic. Congrats!

That's awesome! There's not any of them in Electrical Engineering are they? I love it here at Tech. They even offer CHL classes for $45 dollars. You can't beat that.

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO

@Junius Yea my girlfriend can't even pull the trigger on the p64 in DA. She's been getting more into guns lately and the makarov round seems very forgiving. She'd be comfortable with it, especially since the recoil on the 1911 doesn't bug her at all. I saw some of your threads on the cz82 in the oth...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO

This is my first post here, I don't usually post much on forums but like to dig a lot. Anyway, my name is Zach and I live in Lubbock, TX and am a student at Texas Tech. I'm 22 and have been shooting guns my whole life since I had a range in my backyard growing up. I've never gotten into pistols unti...
