Re: Best IWB holster (better fit: PPK or SigP230?)

Here's the one I ended up buying for IWB carrying. Made in the USA, works great, $15, free shipping....

Re: P64 Springs?

Key with these springs is that you do have to file the ends flat, don't leave them in the round. This allows thenm to seat better. When I saw that the "original" spring was shorter than the 18 lb spring from Wolff, I looked at the bottom. It was flat. Had been filed or sanded down flat. J...

Re: P64 Springs?

Yeah, not a doubt in my mind that a Polish military or police armorer did a job on that thing, did something that went beyond a simple spring job....

Re: P64 Springs?

Just talked to Andrew at J&G. He's emailing me a prepaid return UPS label, and will exchange my pistol ASAP. He said he'd try to find one with a stiffer SA, but that they are notorious for light SA and horrendous (his word) DA. Since mine has a plum slide, I asked if he maybe could find another ...

Re: P64 Springs?

Can I return this pistol through the post office? I know some outfits require overnight, but I've bought from people and they didn't come overnight....Have to send it back. Maybe they'll send me a label since the gun is defective, so I don't have to pay postage both ways. Come through for me J&G...

Re: P64 Springs?

Ok, I'm b-a-a-a-c-k. With Wolff springs. I did some further trigger pulling and found that on DA it pulled repeatedly 16 lbs. On SA it was always at 2 lbs. (Told you it was scary light in SA.) In examining the Wolff springs I saw that difference in the 18, 19, and 20 lb (no 17#?) springs was length....

Re: BRAND NEW Colt Police Positive

Very nice. Older Colts are very hard to find. wyo-man I bought mine from a friend at La'Union Italia in Tampa, in about mid-1960s. It was reputed to be a piece used by a Trafficante Family mafioso, not sure how used. Fellow I bought it from was an associate of the Family, my bookie. I was surely su...

Re: P64 Springs?

HAHAHAHA, love it! But I ain't even tol' Mama I got this one. Yet....heheheheh Another thing I noticed is that when I cleaned it, is that to remove the slide takes an inordinate amount of strength to slide it all the way back. I'm beginning to think some Polish dude also did a recoil spring job on t...

P64 Springs?

I took out my 'new' P64 today. Having read a bunch on here about the trigger pull, I was surprised to find my trigger seemed like it pulled about like the rest of my DAs and revolvers. A friend at the range had a trigger pull scale. We found the DA was a consistent 17-18 lbs, and the SA was 2-3 lbs....

Re: Swapped out my mainspring over the weekend.

Guys, thank you all so much. Junious, this video has gone to my "Favorites" file so I don't lose it. I'll certainly use it when my Wolff spring gets here. I think part of my confusion is that the part is variously called the hammer spring and the mainspring, even saw it called the magazine...

Re: Swapped out my mainspring over the weekend.

I know this is a stupid question, but I'm new at this.
Where IS the hammer spring?
And, are there any online guides to changing it out?
Thanks,

Re: Best IWB holster (better fit: PPK or SigP230?)

I had the Galco IWB until I got the ClipDraw. After using the clipdraw once I retired my IWB and haven't used it again. The clipdraw completely changes your carry experience. http://www.clipdraw.com/ Tom Well, Tom, It's been almost two years since you posted this. How do you like the ClipDraw now? ...

Re: Is this a P-64?

The safety doesn't look like a P-64. May be a replacement, but I'd think it was a PPK, maybe, with that ledge-type safety....

Re: J&G Sale on P-64's

In the past I've ordered from both AIM and J&G. I went to AIM this morning. Their P-64 was $179.95 with 2 mags, plus $26.25 s&h. J&G's P-64 was $149.95 (yesterday was $179.95) plus $19.95 extra mag, plus $22.95 s&h. $206.25 vs. $192.85. $13.40 difference. No contest. Ordered just no...

Re: J&G Sale on P-64's

Mine came yesterday!! Wahoo! Smooth lil devil, and the DA isn't all stiff, like I've read about and elsewhere. It is stiff compared to the SA, but just to draw and fire its no more than any of my other DA/SA's, which include Walther P-1, Taurus 92AFS, or Colt Police Positive revolver. The Colt 1903 ...
