Re: Buldged Cases

That's too bad. Looks like you'll just have to do like a lot of us and cut down 9mm Luger brass. It is the only brass I have used since reloading Makarov. I've never bought 9x18 brass. Never experienced a bulged case yet! (knock on wood) I generally cut down Luger brass as well -- but, I did buy 9x...

Re: P64 won't go together with Wolff 22lb spring

Actually, that is a pretty common problem. I believe that you will want to do the following: 1) Make sure that the tight end of the spring goes on first (the diameter of the open ends is different) 2) You may want to sand the ends of the spring flat instead of leaving them rounded -- but refer to st...

Re: Best source for 9x18 Bullets

I've used Berry's double-struck plated bullets with very good results. I have fired hundreds of them through my P64 and CZ-82 without incident.

Re: Any Makarov bullet casters?

You are VERY lucky! I spoke with a couple of the tire places near me, and they told me that lead weights are becoming scarce (most of what they deal with now are steel).

Re: Any Makarov bullet casters?

I'm interested in learning about this as well. I had priced out what it would cost to get started casting, and then what lead and antimony would cost going forward -- turns out it was cheaper to just buy bullets from Missouri Bullet Company. But, when viewed as a hobby or a self-reliance measure, I ...

Re: Fixed my CZ-82(s)

I'll be taking my refurbished "spare parts" pistol to the range next weekend to certify that everything is working properly; but I have no doubt that she's going to run as good as new. I just got back from the range, and I'm happy to report that my re-worked parts gun ran like a champ! I'...

Fixed my CZ-82(s)

When the trigger guard latch pin broke on the CZ-82 that I'd refinished in Duracoat, I found that replacement pins (the solid variety, with the turned-down end and the groove for the slide release lever spring) are simply not available. To get my pistol back up and running, I bought another CZ-82 an...

Re: Saftey ON or OFF ..... CC'in

... Does anyone else's pistol do this? Mine sure doesn't. Only two positions for my safety/decocker; full on (covers the red dot) and full off (red dot showing). I'd be really suspicious that you have a burr or a ding in the detent action of your safety, and I would not trust the intermediate posit...

Re: Saftey ON or OFF ..... CC'in

Safety off, empty chamber, 6 rounds in the mag, in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster. Spare 6 round mag in the other pocket.

Re: Reloading system?

If I could justify spending the dough, I'd go with a Dillon 650 . Instead, I have multiple Lee Pro 1000 progressive presses. They work well (once you get them set up and adjusted properly, and if you keep them clean) and the price is definitely right. When I bought mine, they were about $170 each co...

Re: Versa Carry

I look forward to your review. I use a crossbreed-style holster for my CZ-82 and I'm very pleased with that arrangement; but as you point out, it seems like a lot of holster for a p64. I've been carrying my p64 in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster. It seems to work better in some pockets than in others...

I've never had any issue with either performance or leading using MBC in 9mm Makarov, 9MM Luger, .38 Special, or 45 ACP.

Re: Grips for Tokarev Pistols

A Yugo Tok carries one more round than its cousins do. So, Yugo Tok mags and grips are NOT interchangeable with non-Yugos.

I really like my Yugo Tok -- but boy does she sling brass! Into the next county, for crying out loud.
