Re: 7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Thanks Hinermad. Having worked for the government (at one level or another) for the majority of my working years I can safely say that a government inspection wouldn't delay it a mere 6 months. Furthermore, if it passed inspection it would have been redirected to the original shipping point in order...

Re: 7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Site Glo is the product I just used. I can tell already that mine is certainly not going to look as neat as your painting. Hopefully, even if it's a bit gloppy it will do the job of making the sight more visible. While I had it out I did the Tok' also. That had a much larger rear sight area to work ...

Re: 7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Today is set aside for experimenting with a little sight painting. Those P64 sights are a challenge for my old eyes. If that doesn't work, I'm thinking of going back to a 105 mm howitzer. As I recall, you can afford to miss by a lot greater margin and still be effective although concealed carry migh...

Re: 7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Follow up to my first post. Yesterday I noticed that J&G now also has 7.62x25 in bulk. It's 1260 rnds for $214. This is Polish. I don't understand how this foreign ammo dries up completely then two dealers have it in stock, originating from 2 different country's almost simultaneously.

Re: 7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Sarge and Darrell,
Thanks for both clarifications. I was so excited to finally see this ammo available I rushed to get out a note and wasn't particuarly accurate nor inclusive. Glad you guys are there to help.

7.62x25 now available for folks who also have Tokarevs

Don't know if this is the right place to post... I wanted to share that Classic Arms sent out a notification yesterday that they have 7.62x25 ammo (Romanian as I recall). I ordered 400 rnds at about .17 each. It has been impossible to find bulk ammo for my Tok'.

Re: Range Report

Thanks so much. Great videos. It will be a lot smoother next time. I wasn't looking forward to struggling again. Now I know what the small hole in the hammer strut is for. Big 'DUH' there! I expect my tinkering is going to slow for a bit while I learn the pistol, find a good holster etc.

Range Report

I decided that as long as I was going to give the P64 a really good cleaning upon arrival I would also make some of the modifications I found on this great forum right away. I replaced Recoil, Trigger and main/hammer springs and also polished the feed ramp. This morning I put 50 rounds of Silver Bea...

Re: Mystery 'chamber wear'

Hate to admit this... After going to the range with the Mosin and almost having to step on the bolt to get it free (left some cosmoline in the chamber) I tried everything, but what finally worked was to aim my pressure washer into the chamber to flush out the cosmoline I couldn't reach. Probably a h...

Re: Mystery 'chamber wear'

May not be too helpful with handguns... The trick I used with my mosin was to box the stock back in the box it arrived in surrounded by kitty litter, wrap that in black plastic and leave it in the hot sun, flipping every so often. (I have also heard of people stowing the boxed parts in a hot car.) I...

Re: Mystery 'chamber wear'

Thanks for the tip, legally armed. I replaced the recoil spring, firing pin spring and main spring today and polished the throat (right term?). As long as I was there I dressed the slight ding I originally inquired about. I didn't like the fact that there was actually a small burr on the inner circu...

Re: Mystery 'chamber wear'

Thanks to all. Without even trying to match up the marks I think Juniustaylor's explanation makes a world of sense. I hate to admit it but I can see myself being ham handed enough to let the slide come forward and ding the chamber. I also feel better about the possibility of just ignoring the issue....

Re: Mystery 'chamber wear'

Thanks. I'm going to see if my extractor lines up with the spot. I'm not near the gun, but visualizing it I see the extractor possibly hitting on the 12 to 3 O'Clock portion as opposed to the 10 or 11 O'Clock position of the chamber. However, I may be totallly off base. I like the 'lightly dressing'...

Mystery 'chamber wear'

I'm still very new here. I tried to post this inquiry a few days ago and can't find it. I must have screwed up. I swear that when you reach 60 all your computer skills vanish. I am wondering if anbody else has noticed what I would call a small 'ding' on the inside circumference of a P64 chamb...

Classic Arms - Kudos!

Ordered my first P-64 on a Friday and received it the following Wednesday! :D Great response time and the order was packaged as if Classic really cares about the item shipped (unlike a competitor from whom I ordered a Tokarev). The P-64 is in great condition and the holster is also fine. If I was so...
