Re: Firearm finishes
Awesome job, Kirk. No Kel-Tec ever looked that good from the factory! It really is almost fool-proof (and I should know!). I've taken to trying to find good guns with ugly finishes just so I can 'fix' them. I'm completing an old Browning A5 16 Ga and I'm just starting an heavily pitted Smith&Wes...

Re: Firearm finishes
If you've got a bit of patience and can boil water, I'd recommend Rust Bluing wholeheartedly. Here are a couple of my recent projects: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8060/8154841521_8456894e81_b.jpg 2012-11-04_13-01-45_491 by marklmurray , on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7257/7819571348_53921...

Re: Any one us Hornady XTP 95 gr HP 9x 18
Once I saw this test, I decided to make the XTP my SD ammo in my 9x18 guns. It tested out squarely in .38 +P territory, in my opinion.

Re: Refinishing. First time, some questions
Thanks! My point here, though, was that rust bluing is an easily achievable high quality finish for these guns. Though it takes more patience than a sprayed on finish, it's much more 'forgiving' and, in my opinion, easier. Providing, of course, that the metal is carbon steel and you don't desire a c...

Re: Refinishing. First time, some questions
My recommendation: -Take it all the way apart. It's not that hard and with the resources on the internet, totally do-able. -Don't spray it. Just my personal opinion. I don't like how 'painted' guns look and I like how they wear even less. -If you can do light sanding, boil water, and have a little p...

Re: P 64 with CCR's CP II finish and Marschal zebra wood gri
Does the beavertail cure any slide bite issues? That's really the only issue I've ever had shooting this gun. Any possibility we could get a measurement of the width of the grips on the gun in comparison to the stock grips?
It looks awesome, by the way!

Re: Best IWB holster (better fit: PPK or SigP230?)
I ran across this site today with a different type of carry. Not sure how comfortable it would be but for a number of reasons I will have to give it a try. Called the Smartcarry, it is probably the best undetectable way to carry I have seen to date. Good pics too showing how it works under the pic ...

Re: AS SEEN ON TV!
I've been thinking about using the stick on "energy absorbing" pads made for the PF-9 by KTADDONS along with a Handall Jr. (if I can make it fit). Anyone else tried this?

Re: P-64 arrived
Yeah, 'unissued' was a little rich for my blood, but if the one I got was issued, it looks like it was stuck in a drawer and forgotten about. Just shot it today and everything people say about it's accuracy (excellent) and double action trigger (horrendous) is true. I didn't find the recoil that bad...

That make two of us. I did the same with the 'Excellent' option and I believe I got what I paid for too.

Re: Royal Tiger Imports just got their P-64 shipment in
Thanks Sandman. The Compensator doesn't really do much other than add more weight to the muzzle (it's pretty soft shooting to begin with). I just felt the longer 'look' to the barrel balanced the longer (than other TT-33's) grips.

Re: Royal Tiger Imports just got their P-64 shipment in
Finally got here. 2 mags, cleaning rod and case. I paid Royal Tigers for an 'Excellent' condition specimen and I'm very satisfied with what I got: http://home.comcast.net/~69murray/pictures/sIMG_2408.JPG Larger Image And here's one with his 'Comrades' :D : http://home.comcast.net/~69murray/pictures/...
