Wood finish--Odd-ball idea No. 3,40..... I have recently been on a Vicks Vaporub kick. It's great for warding off black flies and mosquitos. And....as a wooden grip/stock finish. Suggestion is to apply liberally or conservatively and warm with a hair dryer to liquify. Polish with cotton diaper; Wolf...

Bind in slide?

Gentlemen:

Took subject pistol to gunsmith who noticed that ejector is digging in to the barrel at the forcing cone. Suggested solution is to de-burr the area and live with it.

Holser options

Gentlemen:

You can get a custom, in the pants holster by arranging to take the weapon to your favorite shoe repairman and asking him to sew one up. Perhaps he could even fancier!!!

Bind in slide?

P64.

Just read your note and tried it with my gun.

Does the same thing.

Noticed the exterior of the forcing cone is extremely rough. Damage? Factory?
Too much power in Sellier and Beloit?

Slide seems to be hanging up there.

Tunnelrat

Don't want to give out this elderly lgentlemen's name but he was the firearms instructor and I believe did some armorer type work for the state police.

He participated in handgun competition for years and is a bigtime gun collector.

He has been my S&W mentor for years.

H & K Recoil Spring

H-K recoil spring re-assembly. What a great website. within a couple hours I had help and advice. All is OK. Page 9 calls the spring around the barrel the recoil spring. Just too much H-K 44325 spring both in strength and volume at that stage of the project and not enough strength in these old hands...

H & K Recoil Spring

Re-assembly after HK spring installation I cut off 6.75 coils. When I tried to put the slide back on the frame the slide jammed at the where the barrel is starting to come through. Slide is at a 20 degree angle to the frame. I have gently pried from all angles. Stuck firm. Advice please. Hawkerjim
