Re: Polish Iron V05 grips, road testing

Mine developed this issue on the last range outing. To correct the problem, I removed the grip and placed a small dab of grease on the trigger bar and reinstalled the grip. I think the problem can be caused is the grip is not installed perfectly. In any event, I ran some snap caps thru it and the t...

Re: Polish Iron V05 grips, road testing

Has anyone had any issues with these grips interfering with the trigger bar? When I brought mine to the range and test fired the gun with the new grips on it, I had to relax my grip after each round fired or the trigger would not reset. I found that it was due to the material inside the right side o...

Re: Polish P-83 Slide Cracked (Pics!)- Need help to find a spare!

That's crazy. I own a P-83 as well and never would have thought the slide could crack like that. Yes, they are stamped sheetmetal guns but still.

I reload 9x18 among a bunch of other calibers and after seeing this I think I'll stick to only mild loads in my P83 from now on. ;)

Re: Magazine holster

I use a Galco smc20 for my East German Makarov spare magazine. It works well for the P64 also.

Re: Another new P64 owner

I didn't even know there were any differences in the magazines throughout production years, but I would assume it will function without troubles. You don't hear of many issues with these guns, except maybe the safety engaging during firing. That happened a few times with mine until I replaced the pl...

Re: Where is price headed?

As with any surplus gun, they will dry up one day and all the budding collectors will say "Damn, I wish I were around when they were $169!". I've only been collecting firearms since the late 1990's and in that short amount of time I've seen C&R/ surplus stuff go way the hell up in pric...

Haha! Nice. In MA, it's illegal to carry a handgun in WMA's that are stocked with upland birds (during the season at least). Nice shootin'!

Re: Holsters for P64 that work for me

I am surprised at how many people carry their main CCW in a pocket. I guess if you practice you can get quick enough with your draw but I could never get used to it. Strong side IWB only for me, with any of the main carry guns I use. Occasionally I'll wear a small auto or Jframe in an ankle holster,...

Re: recoil pain

I've noticed the P64 jabs at the hand a bit more than other small autos it's size. I like the gun but it still feels odd in my hand. I don't like the stock grips very much. I've put a Hogue Handall sleeve over it and that seems to help a bit. This time of year I'm always wearing nice leather shootin...

Re: Take down lever/trigger guard

I would imagine that if the gun were fired with the trigger guard pulled down, the slide would probably just overtravel a bit (possibly damaging it but who knows.) I don't think the slide would kick up and off the rails because while the gun is recoiling, it's moving upwards and therefor the slide s...

Re: p-64 parts needed lets get togeather

I saw a bunch of P64 parts for sale on Gunbroker this morning. Prices are ridiculous though. A buy-it-now price of $45 for just the safety for instance. Ouch. Buy hey, supply and demand huh? If someone has a nice shooter P64 that just needs a new safety, they will pay it.

Re: I you use a Hoque Jr Grip on your P64...

i bought a hogue handall jr today and tore it when I tried to put it on. Man those things are tight, I wished I'd used a little heat now but I didn't want any moisture under it. I didn't think about a hair dryer until it was too late. Sorry my post is a little late in the game, but better late than...

Re: Changing Re-coil spring!

I had the same problem today when I tried to install a new Wolff spring on mine. I'm just going to wait till Monday where I can use a grinder at my shop and flatten down the ends of the coils. I'm a little surprised this needs to be done; usually Wolff springs fit perfectly and without trouble.

Looks like a vintage 1970's leather chair my grandfather used to have!

That does look well made, how's it carry? Seeing it's smoothside out, does it move around a little while going about your daily routine?

Re: P-64 Spring Projectile Distances

First time I took my P64 apart the safety detent and spring launched into the stratosphere. I was sitting on my bedroom floor which is a thick black oriental rug. It only took a few minutes to find the spring and detent (which had stayed together), they were right behind me! Still can't believe they...
