Re: Trigger responds fully w/ Dummy Round, but not LIVE Ammo
OK, apology's are in order....I shouldn't try to explain something I did a year ago off the top of my head. I'm too old to trust my CRS won't kick in. I changed the above description of what I did to what I actually did. See the picture... http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii45/GWUISTER/p64TRIGGERM...

Re: Trigger responds fully w/ Dummy Round, but not LIVE Ammo
"You mentioned you made a dummy round out of an unfired round? Did I miss something there (sounds dangerous) Or, my reading comprehension is lacking "

Re: Trigger responds fully w/ Dummy Round, but not LIVE Ammo
I had this exact situation on one of my P64's. Didn't know it had a problem until I took it to the range. I looked at one of the other p64's that worked correctly and saw that if I pulled back the slide just a little I could duplicate the problem on that one. I checked the length on my dummy rounds ...

Re: Luger anyone?
I have a 1920 commercial in .30 that my grandfather bought new. Probably has had under 2 boxes of shells run through it. He had pretty small hands and filed the grip panels to fit him better. The other is an Erma .22 I picked up as a companion for the Luger a few years ago. The real deal is on the b...

Re: Newest Find
I bought mine new in about 1995 or so. I don't think I have ever had a jam of any kind, even with some really cheap magazines. I mostly shoot my own reloads with my cast 230gr round nose bullets. Cheap shooting with cast reloads!

I have one of these from JSE Surplus. For $350 it works really well.

Out of stock right now but they have others to choose from.

Re: Cobra Arms .38 special Derringer
Yep, lots of idiots out there.
With the hammer block safety on there is no possibility for an A.D if dropped.
I have a Davis D-38. Same derringer, fun but can't hit the side of a barn even from inside!

Re: Question for SOG customers
I like and use SOG as often as my bank account will let me;-} 1, they will charge 2% for credit card use. 2, I find it best to call and place an order by phone. Kelly @ ext 226 has always treated me great. I always use a card, for 2% it isn't worth the effort to me, but I'm sure the customer service...

My 1970 came with both style mags. I was expecting to have feeding problems with one of them but they both run fine.

Re: PA 63 Question
As stated in the thread regarding the P64, the PA63 uses an inertia firing pin also. Try putting a primed shell in the chamber and pull the trigger while slowly letting down the hammer. Keep the trigger pulled and tap the hammer with a plastic hammer or something equal. It won't go off because the f...

Re: How do you feel about carrying safety off and hammer do
From looking at mine, it looks like the P64 used an inertia style firing pin where even with the trigger pulled the pin doesn't contact the cartridge. Only when the hammer is dropped from the cocked position is firing pin pushed into the primer without the hammer contacting the pin for the last 1/16...
