Re: I got shot by my P64 yesterday...
After seeing the photos, I think I am going to put some Quikclot gauze or Celox-A packs in my range bag! I personally know a young man that accidentally shot himself in the leg with a .40 hydro-shock. It didn't expand and looked pretty much like this wound - clean round hole going in with a slightly...

SurfZ - I got mine at a gunshow, but MidwayUSA also carries them. This is the one that I got (i.e. Walther PPK/S size):

Re: Grip Design and that little blister you get...
I have never gotten a blister, but I keep a Pachmayr slip-on on mine. I like the palm swells on the Hogue, but the Pachmayr is more "rubbery" and is much easier to slip-on/take-off. My sons also prefer the feel of the Pachmayr over the Hogue, and I have had both on my P64.

Re: Needed a fix another P-64
I too am addicted. What is it about those com bloc guns (I have a P64, CZ-52, Makarov, 2 Mosin Nagants, AK-47, and SKS. And wouldn't mind picking up a Tokarev, CZ-70 and CZ-82)? I think it must be their great reliability, durability and, in particular, great value they offer. Plus they are just plai...

Re: Accuracy Issues?
Cosmoline is a heavy grease commonly used in the long-term storage of surplus firearms. My P64 had it in the barrel and in all the nooks and crannies of the action when I bought it. As noted in other areas of this forum, it is essential that your P64 is thoroughly cleaned (everything, everywhere) an...

Re: Accuracy Issues?
I know that I was impressed with the accuracy of my P64 the first time out. I think it was due to: (1) my initial expectations were low given its relatively short barrel, (2) the sights on the pistol were dead-on and shot to the point of aim at 10-15 meters, and (3) the single action trigger was ver...

Re: Accuracy Issues?
I haven't drifted my sights on my P64 as I have no reason too. On other guns, I always use a brass punch and a small hammer to drift sights that are dovetailed. The brass punch can leave some brass residue that needs to be rubbed off. As far as accuracy, you didn't make any distinction between doubl...

Re: P-64 vs cz82 recoil
The recoil was harsh on the hand when I was shooting Prvi Partizan ammo with stock grips, and the fun factor rapidly decreased after a couple of clips. However, I put on a rubbery Pachmayr slip-on grip and switched to Silver Bear. I now don't find the recoil bad, and see no need for a stiffer recoil...

Re: Quick introduction and my new P64
Hi Waltham! My sons love their plastic guns, but I prefer old school blue steel. Yes, the P64 can be harsh on the hand. However, I put a Pachmayr slip-on grip on mine and found that it made shooting a box of ammo more comfortable. The Pachmayr is also easy to put on/take off. I hope you enjoy your P...

Re: P64 Accuracy
Juni - A common complaint of the last lots of imported P1s was they shot low and to the left, which is also a symptom of snapping the trigger. I initially experienced the same thing, but found the pistol shot just low of the point of aim from the bench. On close examination when dry firing, it seems...

P64 Accuracy
People consistently comment on the great accuracy of the P64. I also found it to be very accurate from the first time I picked it up (i.e. with no previous practice with the P64). It was a surprise given its small sights, small grips, short barrel, and stiff kick. In contrast, my Walther P1 is intri...

Re: Bought a P64 from Cabela's today! springs?
Trig - Cleaning and shooting greatly helped mine. Before cleaning - Double action trigger took a ridiculous amount of pressure before the hammer would drop. Also, the hammer drop safety had the feel that it was binding. Premature conclusion - this thing doesn't work right. After thorough external/in...

Re: Bought a P64 from Cabela's today! springs?
For now, I am leaving my P64 as is, primarily because it is reliable as is. Yes, the double action is stiff and it would be nice if it were lighter. However, the single action is as light as I care to have it. I already have a natural tendency to follow a double-action shot with my P64 with a quicke...
