Reloading the 9x18

I went with the 0.363" sizer die. I think it was Norm that mentioned he did not have any issues with it in his guns. I am not sure when I will get to try these out, but I will keep ya posted.

Reloading the 9x18

Success!!! I was able to mold some bullets. This was the third batch. The first two did not come out so well. http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww307/buggyboat/DSCN2509.jpg My buddy found me a Lyman Luber sizer at a yard sale. It works good. I got them all lubed and sized. I had to modify the top p...

Hi all,

The Lee setup I got came with a shank to fit a power drill. This setup goes fast.

Reloading the 9x18

I was looking at just buying brass, but with starline brass running around $25 per 100 after shipping and everything, trimming 9mm brass is well worth the effort for me. It took about an hour to trim the 150 or so that I have done. The Lee trimmer and a cordless drill work great. In fact, I went and...

Reloading the 9x18

Thanks Norm. I am going to go ahead and order the 2 cavity. I am going to see if I can borrow a six cavity 9mm that a buddy has. I will be able to see if I like it. I bought some lead off ebay and shoud be here next week. I had no luck at the tire shops for wheel weights. I even called a local indoo...

Reloading the 9x18

http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww307/buggyboat/DSCN2483.jpg OK, there should be a picture here if it worked. Anyway, I trimmed a bunch of brass. I took a sharpie and ringed the ejection groove on each one so I can tell it apart from the regular 9mm. You can see it in the picture (if it worked)....

Reloading the 9x18

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about bullet diameters for this caliber. I see the lee mold throws a .365". I just bought a box of 95gr XTPs that are .365", but then I have seen cast bullets such as these http://mastercastbullets.com/productpricecontd.html that are .366". Has any...

Reloading the 9x18

Thanks Norm. I think my problem was with the Lee 9x18 pilot for the cutter. The edge where it touches the cutter was a bit too big. I stuck it in a drill and polished it off a bit and it works great. I was thinking that it was a special sizing die, or an expander in the die that needed to open up th...

Reloading the 9x18

Hi all, Just a quick question about reloading. Several have mentioned that they use cut down 9mm brass. I went and got the Lee trimmer. It seems that the 9mm brass has a smaller ID than the 9x18 and the trimmer will not fit far enough in to allow the cutter to cut. Will resizing open up the ID? I do...

The New SOG

I agree that SOG should make their catalog available to the public with a retail price shown. I still do not think they will lose business. SARCO is a good example. They sell truckloads of stuff. Their customer service is piss poor and the web site sucks. You have to realize that the guy who wants t...

The New SOG

I think SOG deserves a break on this. I order stuff from them often and they are a class act. As a dealer I have to say I am glad they finally hid their prices. I won’t have to put up with the "SOG has it on the Internet for $129. You want way too much" anymore. :) I got that so much that ...

Stupid question

Ok, it is like this. Say a dealer has an opportunity to buy a gun with a max value of $300. In order for the dealer to be able to sell it for $300 and make a modest $25 profit he would have to pick it up for around $249. And sell it for $281. Remember the max price anyone would pay is $300. With a 6...

Hi all, Just a quick FYI about shipping a pistol. It is illegal to ship a pistol through the USPS to anyone unless you have an FFL (or equivalent e.g. C&R, manufacturing license... ) and the person on the other end has an FFL (or equivalent). You can ship through FedEx or UPS as long as the pers...
