Re: Source For P-83 Parts?
there is a guy named marcin in poland that may be able to help you out. he has a gunbroker page with numerous small parts. he may not have a firing pin listed but if you send him a message via gunbroker, his armorer may be able to acquire one for you. here is the link to him: http://www.gunbroker.co...

Re: p-83 double action problem
i should add that the guy in poland didn't leave me hanging on the spring. i sent him a picture of the spring and sear. he went to his armorer and got me the spring asap. he told me to keep the incorrect parts in the event that i need them. he is a straight up fellow that values his reputation. heck...

Re: p-83 double action problem
Great News! my p-83 is back in action, that is double action and single action. i located the spring i needed from a guy named marcin in poland. a bit pricey but i was willing to pay. if you guys ever have a need for parts this guy is worth the money. the bad news is that it required paying a gunsmi...

Re: p-83 double action problem
weasel640, when you had your hammer out, could you see the spring that was in between the sear and the hammer on your pistol. i want to make sure that there is one there.

Re: p-83 double action problem

Re: p-83 double action problem
thanks weasel640 for your photos and insight. i don't think that my camera is capable of such good photos. update: my local gunsmith was able to dislodge this pin with a starter punch and remove it for $5. i had soaked the part in kroil already. a good quality starter punch will remove this pin. i e...

Re: p-83 double action problem
an update, still having trouble removing the pin that retains the hammerfly. i have tried an arbor press, resulting in a bent bit, and a 1/16th punch which also bent. purchased a starrett punch based on their reputation for quality however, i am not optimistic. i think that this might whip me.

Re: p-83 double action problem
i strongly suspect that the poles have been using up old stock of corrosive ammo. this weapon is not expensive to make and i figure that they just issue new ones on a regular basis. upon examining the internals of my pistol, i have observed the carbon, charcoal grittiness on the parts. not the usual...

Re: p-83 double action problem
i believe that i have finally figured out what caused my double action failure. the part is called a hammer fly, it is pinned to the hammer. basically it is a double action sear. there is also a spring that is associated with this part. my hammer fly appears to have broken in half and the spring is ...

Re: p-83 double action problem
can you take a picture of this spring and where it is so i can see if mine is missing? thanks, this is good to know. i was a bit pissed because i really like the pistol. hell, i like it in single action only as well.
