Re: Just got my P64, seems very difficult to rack slide and flip safety

As for the safety, common issue apparently. The only real way to resolve this is to smooth/polish the safety detent and make sure it's well lubed (this is a little nub that sits on the end of a spring, inside the slide, that slides in and out of a detent). But not to much mind you. Also you can sho...

Re: WWII Nose Art

Well number 12 is not real. That art is by a modern artist that goes by Cooper. So they did not check these photos for authenticity.

Re: I might be an idiot, buuuut...Hammer wont stay back

It would be hard to diagnose with this amount of information only. But start looking at how the Disconnector, Sear, and Hammer are interacting. Good luck.

Re: P64 Trigger works fine until top slide on pistol

I think it is the Disconnetor, not wanting to shave material from it, may buy a replacement and see how that goes. In single action (hammer back) it functions fine, and the safety works as it should. Sounds like a plan. That way you have another one if you take to much off. I just checked too. Disc...

Re: Safety into decocker only?

No. That would only work with modifications of parts. Frankly since the Safety is such a hard part to find, if anything goes wrong with trying to do this, well you've just rendered your P-64 inoperable. Additionally the P-64 is not entirely safe to carry on Fire (this has already been debated in a d...

Re: P64 Trigger works fine until top slide on pistol

Your problem is going to lie in how the Disconnector interacts with this new Safety. In short the Disconnector is doing what it is supposed to do at the wrong time e.g. Disconnect the Trigger Bar from action. At a normal state of rest the Safety sits above the Disconnector. If you search the forums ...

Also, do all P-64's chuck brass 20-30ft away?
yes

For the price you got this at you'll still be getting a good deal if you just go ahead and pick up a "gun smith special" that has a good safety. Choose the one with the lesser finish to be a parts gun.

Re: P64 Mags

Small bump. Found these at keepshooting.com https://www.keepshooting.com/polish-p-64-magazine.html?mc_cid=b130224a65&mc_eid=[UNIQID] $19.95 per mag. Reviews indicate not OEM but it's something. Unless someone knows for sure that these have been fixed; You might as well consider that they will be ga...

Re: Hungarian F.E.G. MR61

I have a FEG RK59. I haven't seen any of these listed anywhere. The articles I have read gives an adequate history, but can't seem to find anyone that has any experience with one. Surely, I don't have the last one in existence. I'm not sure what you mean here. There are some on Armslist... Also You...

AND if you see a P-64 Safety come up for any price that you are will to pay, buy it up immediately. The Safety is a part that is in scarce supply and high demand, it can not be substituted out. I think the normal going rate when I see them is $35 +/-.

Re: Failure to feed

Glad it's out... Yeah the Casing on the second round looked like the correct length for the 9x18 Makarov, can't tell on the first. Make sure you give it a good cleaning before the next range time. Also make sure you mark all of you Magazines in some way. If it happens again then you will know if it'...

Re: Failure to feed

If you depress the other rounds, it should ease up on the tension enough that you can push the round out of the way. It is released enough that you aren't going to hurt the feed lips if you just yank the mag out.

Re: Unissued / Never Used P64 ?

I'd say it sounds like you have already found one. These were made for the military and police. Not for commercial sale. Unfortunately they don't come with records about each P_64s history.

Re: Unissued / Never Used P64 ?

These are Surplus pistols. They had belonged to Poland for some time, and sold in huge lots to commercial vendors with no records. So no, no one can say for sure that a P-64 has not been used or issued. However most vendors will inspect them by the lot and give them a grade, i.e. Very Good, Excellen...
