Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

Yeah that wouldn't make much sense haha "So I can trim 1mm off this 9mm case, or I can cut this .223 cartridge in half and trim it down... Yep the .223 way has to be faster!" But yeah try cutting some 9mm down. Like I said it hasn't failed me yet. I haven't loaded a ton of stuff for my P64...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

LOL! I am sorry. I didn't mean to say I use .223 brass for cutting down and using it as 9x18. I was just saying I trim my .223 stuff on the endmill to length for shooting in my AR and my bolt guns. :D

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

Trimming down 9mm cases hasn't failed me yet. I set up the end mill at work to trim all me cases. I can do 350 9x19 to 9x18 in an hour and a half. .223 is even faster :)

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

What I was trying to say was that the 4grn Unique load has a bit more recoil than some of the commercial stuff I have been shooting...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

Norm helped me out before I started reloading. He has given me very good advice on starting out loading up for 9x18 I dont know what you have been shooting for commercial ammo but with 4grs of Unique... well you will see. There is most certainly a bit of a difference from commercial ammo to reloads ...

Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo

I agree. I was just saying what a indoor range owner told me.

The still case thing is probably true, that they have to sort through it and whine. I saw a guy at an indoor range with one of those magnet-on-wheels used on construction sites. He was using it for quick sorting of steel cases :)

Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo

I put 100 rounds of Fiocchi through my P64 at the range the other day. They wouldn't let me use my Silver Bear because the casings aren't brass. Anyway, worked great, no problems. Was it an outdoor range? If it was indoor its because it was steel core ammo. Most of the backstops in indoor ranges ar...
