Re: Serious question about CZ-82
My 120 lb gf has no trouble with the slide, grip or recoil, but everyone is different and you never know until you try it. The CZ-82's are so cheap you may as well just get two and try it. It is completely different from the p64 (i.e. much more comfortable to shoot and handle). Everyone I know who h...

Re: Marschal grips???
How do these grips hold up over time? Do they need any special care? I am looking at ordering some for a few of my pistols, but I'd like to know before I do and I know some of members on here have had them for awhile. Mine have held up well over time. Just be careful when cleaning not to get too mu...

Re: Very tight safety on my new P64
Make sure it's really clean. Then shoot it. If it doesn't loosen up enough for you, you can take the safety apart and clean it/deburr it until it's smooth -- there are some threads around here on that. (Of course you could always do this before you shoot it but it's a bit a of a pain.)

Re: Favorite/worst 9x18 ammo
Well, there are quite a few brands... the most used is probably the Brown & Silver Bear lines because they are very economical to shoot. Barnaul makes the Brown/Silver/Gold Bear ammo. Sellier & Bellot and Winchester Metric are the same. Prvi Partizan is made in Serbia, I haven't heard of an...

Re: Do you take your P64 jogging?
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sounds like I'll probably need to rig up some sort of camelbak type setup if I want to run with the p64. Sgt P, how far have you taken yours? I'm such a minimalist when it comes to running gear, I'm not sure how I'll tolerate an extra pack (on the other hand, I would...

Do you take your P64 jogging?
Does anyone here jog with their p64? If so, what do you use? I'm looking for something that would work for long runs (say 10+ miles). As anyone who runs distance knows, things that are just mildly annoying at short distances can get to be a major pain in the @#$% with several miles behind you. The u...

Re: My P64 Bit Me!!!!
Houge Handall Jr @ $5.70 from Sportsmen's Guide (Amazon) has a finger groove. The bike tire works okay but I prefer the finger groove. I buy them 2 at a time - if you don't you'll certainly rip the only one you have when you put it on. I too was "bitten" by the p64. :D It was actually aft...

Re: The slide knicks my hand
I tend to grip pretty high too. I've just installed the handall jr. as well and it did seem to help a little. Though it make take some fiddling to get just right. Today it hammered my a hand a little less but I gripped a little high and drew some blood. Nothing major though and I think if I slide th...

Re: caring for the safety?
jebib3, have you shot it yet? One thing I noticed on mine was that priror to the first range trip the safefy was nearly impossible to work (i.e. I could do it but only with the pistol sideways using 2 hands and lots of force). This was even after a field strip and good cleaning -- though I didn't di...

I see now, the stock one is just flatter at the ends. I will get my file out tomorrow and go to work on it. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Recoil spring install question
Thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it. I will have a look at them both side by side and see if I can do anything. Worst case, I'm out $8 or so.
Anyone know, mechanically, why it doesn't work as is? (perhaps this will be obvious when I look at them both).

Re: Recoil spring install question
This is a timely thread for me. I'm having the same issue but I don't have a bench grinder or rotary tool and thus I'm not profcient with either. I'm not above buying one, however, (new tools yay! :D ) but if you guys could provide any insight on technique that would be great. Whatever is least expe...
