Re: Chronograph Results
Buffalo Bore in +P used in a 38 snubbie would be a hand full. but for good ammo Hornady CD is imho some of the best personal defensed ammo on the market. It feeds good in all of the pistoles I shoot it in (Makarov, P-64 and LCP) and as far as I can tell from what I have read on line the penetration...

Re: Chronograph Results
Thanks for the chrono results. That answers my questions on fps and ft. lbs. on the pistol. I think with the 2" bbl on the 38 snubbie results would be close, maybe a little more power, but not much more. Again speculation on my part. The reason I am compairing the two guns is alot of people sa...

Re: Graphite lube
I've used synthetic grease on for auto/marine applications on my rails and found it to work pretty well. I have a tube of Tetra grease that I bought recently that I might try, but so far, my P64 has been flawless the way it is.

Re: AMMO
www.cheaperthandirt.com has a bunch of 9x18 ammo at pretty good prices. You can also order some from Buffalo Bore, but I'd be reluctant to try anything heavier than a 95 grain bullet (I would not use their 115 grain 9x18 ammo in my P64). I've thought about their 95 grain ammo, but don't know if the ...

Re: New guy, new P64
www.cheaperthandirt.com has Hornady Critical Defense ammo that I'm using in my P64. They also carry Brown Bear, Silver Bear, Tula, and a few others. For practice, I'd use one of the "Bear" ammo lines, just because the price is right. For carry, I prefer the Hornady, which is naturally more...

I purchased a P-64 in excellent condition.
I got mine from www.militarygunsupply.com (it was the last one they had when I ordered a couple weeks ago). It looks to be in very good shape and the bore looks like new. It was $169 and shipping was $12. It came with 2 magazines, so it was a good deal. My local FFL charged $15 to do the transfer, s...

Recoil comparison
Thanks guys, much appreciated. That's good info. I'll be sure to search the other threads since it's a good chance my questions have probably been answered elsewhere too. Thanks again.

Recoil comparison
My P64 hasn't arrived yet, but I've read a lot of posts regarding recoil being a bit stout. How would you compare it to the recoil from something like a Kimber Ultra Carry II .45 ACP? I shot one recently and really liked it quite a bit. Other than that, I shot a S&W .357 Mag (4" barrel) yea...

p-64 they have 13 left
I'm a new guy here. Glad I found this link, because I ordered the last one they had last night. Hopefully, it'll make it to my FFL by next Tuesday so I can get my hands on it. This board was incredibly valuable and the information here helped me decide to go with the P64 for my first CCW piece. Than...
