Re: Spanish hand cannon
Love those STAR handguns. I owned two: Firestar M43-9. and Firestar 30MI-9. Sold both to a Spanish firearms collector who made me an offer I could not refuse. My signature on several gun forums: "In a perfect world, STAR would still be making forged steel handguns and Taurus would be out of bus...

Re: trigger slap, recoil, or thats just the way it is?
When I ordered Wolff springs for my P64, I went with a stronger recoil spring which cut down on the trigger slap.

Re: Comparison between P-64 and Makarov
Finally took my Makarov out to the range after getting it out of the grease. I'm shooting a Bulgarian surplus. There must have been a really different design requirement set for the Makarov versus the P-64. 1. The Makarov has an odd sight picture. It's hard to explain but compared to the P-64 it is...

Re: My Gun Jammed
With all 9x18 Makarov handguns I own, I clean slide/frame rails with alcohol and then lightly lube same with slide glide or TW25b. I also completely disassembly magazines, clean and lightly lube follower and spring. Lube the recoil spring/barrel contact area, too. YMMV, but my experiences with above...

Re: Used my CZ 82 shoulder holster
OK, along with several parts I ordered and I received two CZ surplus holsters - one tan, other brown. Both seem to be same size. I noticed a bit discomfort in wearing one with loaded CZ82. I may try to fit my much lighter LCR .357 magnum to see if that works. For $4.99 each, IMO the CZ holster isn't...

Re: Holsters for P64 that work for me
Open carry can be a disadvantage for you as well. The BG may not move on and take you out first as mentioned. Not drawing attention to myself is an advantage in case things go terribly wrong. I'm sure you have thought out all of your options, all the best.. So often heard, but never any proof of th...

Re: Used my CZ 82 shoulder holster
I'm planning to order some CZ82 parts from CZ-USA and I would consider adding the shoulder holster to the package, but before making a phone call, I would like to see a photo of the holster being worn with handgun.
Any volunteers with camera.....?

Re: Is p-64 a good target pistol
In my experience with the P64 - it's a good self defense handgun with very good accuracy up to and including 21' which is the distance I practice at.
I don't consider the P64 to be a target pistol.

Re: Picked up a CZ 82.
Thanks....I couldn't pass it up.... SN292xx. Marked Czech Republic. It might be my daily Tucson CC/OC if it's as accurate as my 1960 DDR Makarov. I'm leaning toward a complete strip down, paint removal and hot bluing. EDIT: Got a phone call from LGS where I bought the CZ82. Seems there were addition...

Picked up a CZ 82.
....for $230 with one 12 round magazine. First step is a thorough clean and lube, the it's off to the indoor range. A complete disassembly is in the works and maybe paint removal and a complete bluing. One thing I'm aware of - compete disassembly of the CZ 82 won't be a piece of cake, like my 1960 D...

Re: Sometimes I just love "experts"/authority figures.
Right.......they simply would have copied someone else's design.... Not quite sure what this is in reference to.. the p-64 itself maybe? Except that's not a russian design. The makarov IS a russian design, and can't really be called a copy of anything. The 9x18 is likewise a soviet round, no...

Re: Sometimes I just love "experts"/authority figures.
Most handguns aren't serious weapons. They're what you carry when you can't have a rifle or shotgun. According to the FBI, more people have been killed by a .22 bullet. Ask a large city hospital ER doctor/nurse about their treatment of a GSW victim with a .22 bullet lodged SOMEWHERE inside him. IMH...

welcome. I'm surprised your fearless leaders would allow their subjects to own anything more deadly than a pop gun.
