Re: Hard time releasing mags
There is always such a thing as over tightning. You just want the screw snug and that's all. It is a very small screw and nut and can be damaged very easy. Just keep sanding away at the grip ribs and your problem will be solved for ever. My mags pop right out when you hit the release and that the wa...

Re: Hard time releasing mags
You need to remove the grips. After cleaning the mag well good with kerosine you will see 3 ribbed striations on the inside of the grips that act as a mag guide. These have beome swollen by cosmoline infiltration. Carefully sand these ribs down until you mags drop free as the same when the grips are...

I am that's why I am toting the P 64. It cost way less to feed too! They share the same holsters so that makes it real easy.

Walthers PPK/S
After wanting one for many years now, I finally pinned down a pristine Stainless Walthers PPKS made by Interarms. These were the ones that worked before S&W screwed everything up with them. This one is a real shooter.

If you think the P 64 bites just wait until you meet the Walthers PP and PPK. They are the world most famous hand biters.

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.
I would change it if I were you. Springs affect timing and if you damage the firing pin the pistol is toast!

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.
The Loudest Sound in a Gun Fight is......CLICK! Weapon performance and weapon retention are the most important items. It just ain't cool getting shot with your own gun because you don't know how to control it. Shooting at paper and shooting at another human being in a combat situation is not even cl...

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.
My criteria for any carry gun is that it must perform 200 times with out any failure of any type what so ever. Did you replace the firing pin spring as well to prevent future problems? Once you damage a pin in a P 64 it is pretty much toast and only good as a paper weight. Norm has also documented w...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
Well Said......I shoot to live. It is sad that someone has to die. I didn't make the rules I just learned how to play by them and win so far. If I never have to draw a gun in self defense ever again, it will be too soon!

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
Sounds to me like you have your head around it correctly and your attitude is on the right track. It should be avoided if at all possible however, if there is no other way out just make sure you are the winner. The other reason I will put the first two in the hips is because I have encountered a BG ...

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.
In a Self Defence Shooting you will not be shooting 50 rounds and I will never put a rubber grip of any type on any CCW gun I own. I had a Pach on a S&W Model 36 get caught up on my jacket when drawing causing me to get shot. This is just my experiece and ways fo doing things. The P 64 and all o...
