feed ramp
Hey warthog, you gun hippy! My p64 feeds hornady with no problem--it is a very mild-mannered load in this pistol. I did polish my feed ramp- I used flitz polish on a felt dremmel wheel. I don't think I actually had to, it was just practice. The flitz polish is made for jewelry and not very aggressiv...

Reason for CCW
I feel sorry for you, daysleeper-you have already given up your rights, and when the man comes for your legally registered gun (presuming he allows you to have one), you will no doubt meekly hand it over, after all, it is for the good of everybody, isn't it? One of my friends moved to a state that h...

Fiocchi is my favorite FMJ, followed by S&B. I don't like wolf in 9mm mak.

Any Fractured Safety Prevention Advice?
You can still use the de-cocker, just lower the hammer with the thumb. I recently bought a Walther P1, and in my research, I downloaded a walther manual. I was interested to see that this manual explicitly instructs you to lower the hammer with your thumb while pressing the decocker with your offhan...

Which hollow point?
In the 9mm makarov, I prefer penetration and velocity to overpriced aggressive expansion. I also saw a series of tests, and I'm sorry I don't have the link, where the silver bear out-penetrated the Hornady by a good margin in water AND expanded. I wish you would all email mike mcnett at doubletap am...

I like the 115 Silver Bears. From what I have read, the Hornady dosn't make 1000fps. While the Silver Bear might not be fun for an extended range session, for self defense, it squeezes every foot-pound out of the makarov cartridge. If I wanted a 380, I would buy one. On the other hand, I have no qua...

OT - RANT
Of course,The rotating barrel is not new. There was the Mexican pistol that externally resembled the 1911 and had the rotating barrel. Before that, there was the Steyr 1912. Everything old is new again, 'eh?

gunboards thread
It is simple, mongo. I prefer website forums I participate in to be reservoirs of fact, rather than cesspools of mis-information. I couldn't care less what people think about my firearm of choice, nor am I seeking that others respect my choice. I care that others are able to find out the truth when ...

I don't consider it to be " retarded arguing" to set the record straight. When I was looking into getting a P64, I encountered many negative posts. But, I realized that many were complaints about stiff recoil, which I knew I could live with in a self defense piece. The rest of the complain...

gunboards thread
There is a very good reason to care, mongo. I have seen several posts in that forum where individuals have innocently asked about the P64, only to be jumped on by the makarovniks who are always ready to spew in-accurate invective about this fine little pistol. People deserve honest assessment of thi...

Just a note, and not to start any flame wars, some of you might like to check out the makarov forum on gunboards. A link was posted there to the thread here "better than Makarov? possible". Some of the response is ridiculous. By the way, I posted there with the name jeff barnes.

I've never had a mag pop out, and my pinky is on the extension. Sounds to me like something is wrong, here.

ATF and the P-64
To answer butch50's question, the walther PP was large enough not to be affected by the ATF criteria (about 1/2 inch longer and taller). The PPK/S was created to get around the rules by mating the PPK slide to the taller PP frame.

Well, I see AIM surplus is still selling them for $139. They sell to individuals here in Ohio at their location (that is where I got my swiss K31), charging the same price seen on their website, plus a $10 NICS fee for non-FFL's like me, plus tax. Not sure if they cut FFL' s a deal. I bought my K31 ...
