Did I almost blow my gun up?
I didn't notice that with my P64. I looked at the cases for primer flattening and such, and everything looked normal. I have also shot this ammo in the CZ82, and had no issues there either. Did your P64 have any polishing or work done on the feed ramp? I gave mine a light polish with dremel and felt...

Mine is class of '74, just like me!---triangle hammer. TG guns import, no "Makarov" added to slide.

A day at the range . . .
OT the P64, but I would like to see how the ultra smooth polygonal rifling on my CZ82 would compare.
I would also like to see some numbers for the Silver Bear 115 gn jhp out of the P64. That is the JHP I carry when not using Fiocchi or S&B fmj.
Thanks for the report.

I like brownells Oxpho-blue, which you can get from Cabelas. Use a q-tip for a scratch.

Magazine follower
I bought two magazines from SOG a couple monthes ago, and I noticed one has a different follower. While the one that came with the pistol and has the same electropenciled serial number has what looks like a typical follower, one of the replacement mags from SOG has a completely different follower. T...

EBAY P64 holster...
Great! Yeah, the extra mag was the clincher. Besides, I just like to complete a surplus pistol with it's proper gear. Could make it worth more someday. Now, if I could find an original CZ82 holster. I havn't even been able to find a picture of one!

Best ammo price?
I'm not a fan of the Hornady load. It is too expensive, and as far as it being "hot", it is actually closer to the 380. How is it that the russians can get an honest 1000+fps with a 115gn jhp, but Hornady gets 950fps out of a 95gn bullet?

Holser options
I've been doing it for years, and havn't had a problem, but I appreciate the warning. I generally give my blued pistols a good coating of preservative oil like break free before holstering, and check them regularly. As an example, I used to own an East German Makarov from the first bunch of imports....

When I bought my P64, I also bought a surplus Walther PP flap holster said to be East German. It fits the P64 great, and cost $5. I have used it as a case till now. Like abwehr, I ordered one of the black P64 flap holsters on EBAY, for which I am greatfull to the members of this board for the tip!

New grips for my P 64
I wish some company would produce a really good set of walnut grips with checkering in the style of the Walther PPK grips I have seen.
